You might want to check the stove is still serviceable after that long, rubber O rings etc haven’t perished? I only use gas, but I seem to remember someone using one after it had laid up for a while and it catching fire? (Thinking about it, I’m sure Rod Hutchinson wrote about an incident like that in the carp strikes back?)2 points -
I'm not against naming fish, just allowing anglers to choose - which normally goes badly. I'll let you off with 'Sox' certainly better than 'Jeff' maybe 'The Stripper' would have been better lol 👍2 points

Keen to hear how you get on. I've got a fair bit of zig stuff Inc zig bugs, spiders, snail zig aligners, loads different colours foams but struggled with it tangling after the cast so I knocked it in the head after 2 sessions. I've bought some lead clips with a little tag on them to PVA the zig onto to hopefully eliminate the tangle issue. Might try have another go come spring2 points -
This morning I woke up to the top of my sleep system damp, is this the heat coming off the bag and meeting the cold air? Can think of a few but they'd all be censored on here lol. Probz would've had to have been called "little winkie" 🤣(was cold in early march 🤦🏽) Didn't fancy leaving my maggot 🪱 dangling in the water especially with pike being present so I assumed it better to leave certain things covered especially my toes 😅1 point -

Natural flavour and it's done me well tbf and this winter a pineapple popup on a chod on one of my other rods. I have every flavour popup n water they do aswell with matching bait spray and about 25 kilo in boilies and about 15 kilo in pellets so enough to last a few months lol1 point -

Darenth Valley? Annoyingly the name comes up as censored, but I think I know the fish you mean. A heavily gutted fish with a recessed line down the keel line, and yes, it looked like a pair of testes in the scrotum. I agree and disagree. As I've mentioned above we do have some named fish in the syndicate lake, but we also have mystery with uncaught fish and how quickly the stock fish have put weight on.1 point -

You want your mainline straight through to a lead clip/tail rubber (i.e. no tubing), with the longest anti-tangle sleeve you can find. Smooth cast and the tangles will disappear.1 point

Naming fish is anathema to me. Way back in the early 70s, I banked a fish and before I could even unhook it a guy rushed forward and said: “That’s big [censored], my mate had it last week at 27 lb.” That episode completely spoiled the moment for me. Naming fish and broadcasting their weight destroys what little mystery there is left in carping.1 point

Bought some prologic 9ft c-series compact rods, advanta cradle( basically a walled mat ) n cheap advanta reels for some stalking or when I'm at the easy venues with the misses n lad. Also got some 15lb Hydrotuff (not really liking it after first use), some 15lb synchro xt1 point
