    A section for bait boats

We could call it the noddy section ๐Ÿ˜

  2. "I am Noddy" (to quote Kirk Douglas!) I tutted a bit when bait boats first started to become common but when my mate had a 32lb'er within about an hour of dropping a rig and bait under a tree at about 70 yards that you dare not cast to, I started to see the potential. I've been having my best ever season and I'm sure a lot of it is down to the boat. The accuracy and stealth you can achieve is a huge edge. I'm only using a "basic" boat and no GPS or sonar. Obviously fishing to features is easy but for open water I'm still wrapping the rods out. When casting, I always hit the clip and take the sting out of the cast by holding the rod parallel to the bank and "placing" the lead down but it's still no match for a boat. You can't turn the clock back. Boats are here to stay and you can either embrace them or reject them but you are putting yourself at a disadvantage if everyone else is using them.

  3. Looked at a few Okumas, looking 1 of the better options so far. Balck widow & Emcast 25A are both ยฃ60 at moment....not bad shouts them ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

    Today's thought.

I very nearly sold up this year all my gear is on ebay and the fact I have people trying to haggle means I don't want to sell up anymore. Some of the nonsense they they ask to get the price down is funny, had the same guy message me about alarm receivers numerous times never replied. Another asked me what my lowest price was, so I put 250 on the asking price, ๐Ÿ˜†

    Fishing with Rats

I came across this the other day. Some of his other vids are really good too. Short n sweet. Not plugging any gimmicks as far as I could tell, which puts me off alot of these youtubers.

  9. I wouldn't bother with a cheap boat tbh, I bought one off Ali express, for similar money it was terrible, wouldn't go straight or open when you wanted it too, then I bought an actor plus and while it was a lot better to use, I found I was getting bogged down by tech, I had a deeper attached and in the end I felt like I was taking hours to get my rods out, I've sold it now and just use a good old fashioned spod rod, distance sticks with a lead, x spod, catapult or throwing stick, and I enjoy my fishing more again. Don't get me wrong there are times when it would be a godsend, but keeping it simple, gives me more time to focus on the important stuff like chilling out and looking at the water.

  10. Here is one of my old pins, a 3 1/4 inch Belaco, it was a bit stiff but a quick strip and clean, some light grease and its much better, now a usable reel, might load it up with some 4lb strain mono to use for roach/chub

    Chris Yates in Action

@elmoputney I was a skater up until my early 20's when I smashed by ankles up. To this day I wear a lot of skatey stuff and I have a lot of Palace bits, including a couple of Palace vs Adidas bits. When this vid came out I was speechless.... talk about a colliding of worlds. Couldn't make it up!

  13. I watched the obsession by Carl first then found Scott Lloyd had also released his video the same day, I really enjoyed both of them and felt they made a great story between them. So I will recommend them as a pair of films.

Back on the rods, feels like an absolute age since I've been out (July on the syndi), and how I've missed it. The france trip doesn't count obvs ๐Ÿคฃ forgot that already! Was doing a garden re-design through summer after the lakes closed for spawning and that took right up until just before france late Sept. Got tonight to get back in the swing of things, in a swim I know, the spots still there just a bit smaller with more weed growth. The lake is back up to overflowing due to the recent floods, Got 3 rods close together, fed about 1k of boilie and crumb. Heard 2 crash out since I've been here in the swim next door up against the island snags. Here for 3 nights next week and gonna push myself to carry on into winter, targets not been out so fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž
