    Anyone on the rivers??

I’m quite excited to get back on the tidal stretch, still craving a 20lber 😆 got an hours work at 9, done at 10 and will heading straight to the river. Got tigers, corn and krill soaked boilies on the ready. High tide at 11am so plan on fishing high tide down to low and catch them on their way down. That’s the plan anyway 😂😂 anyone else out?

  3. Like a sit on lawn mower? Haha Just set it up tonight, feels really solid and so easy to pack down for the car. Can fully remove the wheel and handles with 4 knobs! Then the rest folds flat. When you push it empty it feels like it weighs literally nothing... Not 16kg or whatever it is!

    Small boilies

I fished a lake that had a big population of fair size Rudd they would devoured any soft baits we called them Ruddy Piranhas we found if we air dried our boilies so they were hard as marbles it gave the carp a chance.

    Small boilies

I make all my own bait and I routinely use baits between 8-12mm, hookbaits are 11-12mm pop ups hand rolled on 10mm cork balls. Like Yonny said, size isn’t my main concern. I’ve got confidence in my own mix, it does the business, I use these sizes as I get more baits out of a mix! I have hand rolled much larger baits, but I’ve not really noticed a difference in catch rates over the sizes. To bait up at distance with smaller baits, I’ll use stringers routinely and a spomb to hit the spot. To be honest, I often fish marginal spots so it’s just a case of nipping round, baiting the spots then casting the hook bait to it. (Never the other way round if fishing alone)

  8. I grew up a mile away for the "Nen". It's the Nen to the West and as you head East and peeps get posher it's the Neen😅

  9. I first heard Nen when I went to Stanick lakes (with a silent W🤔) on a carp.com social many years ago, I always called it Neen but now I am multilingual and can fit in with both cultures 😂

  10. I think some areas will be mate .... well pebbles anyway , came across what was probably an old river bed . Good 1- 2 ft thick , I don't reckon it will take carp long to seek that out once the lake bed softens 😉

    Can you get worse

Nothing unusual for this time if year winter angling is always going to be more of a miss than a hit i should be out on the 29th only because i have an itch not expecting much i normally wouldn't bother overnight angling till at least mid April. just be fishing a single, a pva bag of pellets with a pellet hook bait and if the funds will stretch a zig really wish i could of got a better bivvy by now or at least a winter skin for my contact, bet those bivvys with the inner tent make a difference this time of year.
