  1. I just got a message from a mate, we have been invited up to have a look around when we can fit in with the syndicate manager. Glad I have been holding back on money while I've not been working. Saved up in case the worst happened and the hotel didn't reopen.

    Sleeping Bag

I was in my Nash scope brolly with an Abode overwrap, my bag is a Nash Frostbite sub zero fitted on a Wideboy... it wasn't cold, but there was a chill wind I was toasty... not the cheapest bag but the dual top layer is very versatile

    Too much bait

Fish zigs. That way your hookbait is nowhere near the bottom where all this uneaten food is.

    Sleeping Bag

I’ve got to agree with highy on this one. It is the best I’ve had but it is also the only one I’ve had and it was free I won it along with the bed and pillow. I find them all excellent really comfortable bed and pillow and the sleeping bag is nice and warm. I’ve not done a winter night but I’ve done one in March and I was plenty warm enough with t shirt and Cargo pants on.

    Sleeping Bag

He's not so bad with his Food n Water... He loves the bag too. Think it's because the 5 season bag is mainly all flecced inner under the duvet part and is also quite thick.

    Too much bait

The problem is there are too many guys that are prepared to chuck kilos and kilos in when they are unable to determine whether there are feeding fish in front of them or not. There is no problem using big qty's of bait if you're on them and it's getting eaten. People need to use their eyes. You can tell if your spot is getting smashed to bits.

    Too much bait

The carp won't be " full up " as they don't have a stomach to fill . If there's lots of uneaten bait it could point to other problems not just anglers piling in to much bait . Personally I would be checking the lakes ( DO ) levels this has the biggest effect on all the fish in the lake & there ability to feed . Also predation is something to keep an eye on ( what's left in the lake ) .

    Marker rod?

I would say yes, because I often use the marker to bait up to with the Spomb or spod. A mate of mine uses the Sonik Vader Carp Marker/spod rod. I have used it with a Korda Marker and 3.5oz lead for feature finding on the reservoir.

    Too much bait

Fish are good at two things ... eating & breeding . If they've stopped eating including the silver's there will be a reason for it. I wasn't suggesting a (Do) crash is definitely on the cards , But low levels certainly will stop them feeding . Can't hurt to get it checked that's for sure & avoid fish deaths as you say mate .

    Sleeping Bag

I haven't actually got a bed , Framey , I use a camp bed ( which decided to creak every time I moved last time out ) , but I would probably go for a compact for weight , and I'm only about 5ft. 8" . I could probably go to about £100 , Yonny , if I had the bag delivered to work so my Wife didn't find out - I'm not a d.i.y. expert like Highy 😁

  13. Not sure who runs it but there is a lake on hayling island, sinah Warren i think it's called. I was going to say about the chichester lakes that you've mentioned. Some good fish in a few of those, some very very good fish in one particular lake.

  14. Looked at RDAA & FAS they have plenty of really good lakes and a possible short term option. PDAS offers some really nice carp & stunning waters locally to me without the long drive just looking for something more laid back with a smaller number of anglers than on club waters

I've only actually slept inside it once so far, rest of time is just on top of it in my trakkie.

  16. Welcome to Carp.com. The most important thing on any water is finding the fish. It can be a lot easier on smaller waters than bigger waters to find them. On 8 acres I would imagine you can see most of the lake, if you see anything showing get on it. That may mean just casting to them, or it may mean moving swims and getting to the right spot. Don't confuse yourself over rigs. Get faith in one rig, put it in the right place. The same with bait. If you have faith in your bait, fish with it on the hook, and just a small bag, mesh or stringer. No need to pile it in. Make sure you get best indication, and be prepared to watch the water and line. With helicopter rigs, something I have found, you may need to hit single bleeps, you might not get proper runs. The carp can move the rig a long way with no movement on your indicator, and if you are fishing with roller wheel buzzers it might not make any noise at all!

    Sleeping Bag

It may be the best sleeping bag, but I'm not sure on your food bowls😖😆😉 Sky always gets fed outside the bivvy, and her water bowl stays out there. Big dogs are such messy drinkers...😉 Looks pretty tidy that Mate, mine always ends up looking like a bombsite

    Sleeping Bag

I am using the Wychwood Morpheus 4 sleeping bag, but I do find it a bit warm in summer, sleeping in t-shirt and combat trousers, so I often just end up sleeping under a bedchair cover. In winter though, it is good down to -5, so with the cover I stay warm. They now do a Morpheus 7 I think it is. Another couple of alternatives are the Gardner Crash bag or the Rod Hutchinson All Season, although you are looking at £60 vs £120 https://gardnertackle.co.uk/product/camo-crash-bag/ https://rodhutchinson.co.uk/product/all-season-sleeping-bag/

    Throwing stick.

I would have said the Gardner Sticks as the best manufactured, but if they are not long enough, then how annoying. I use the original Cobra Ace I think it is, a properly curved plastic stick, by estimate I would say it is over a metre long. I can stick 20mm baits well over 100metres, although occasional mixes I do have to wet the stick as it will split them, even shelf lifes. I prefer frozen baits that are just thawed on the outside, but still hard in the middle. I was saddened when Cobra went under and Nash bought out the name as I simply don't like the Nash Cobra sticks, the quality and feel is totally different, and yuck!

    Canal Carp

Thanks for your replies lads, I have messages from certain people admitting the removal, it's a really tough one because the club don't actually care about the canal other than a specific part there using as a stocking pond should I call it. the community are not happy the EA are not very helpful either I feel there's a local EA member who's in on it as they have a good friendship with the fisheries manager in question. there is no reason to put in a de-stocking program the canal fish in my eyes should be left alone. The fish in question are 20lb + fish. I've contacted the Angling Trust my next port of call is Social Media platforms and potentially The media To expose this club once and for all. thanks again for the replies I appreciate it.

  24. I think it's just like emmcee said, try and intimidate the new guy, probably hadn't seen me around and had probably been used to having half the lake to himself, people are very territorial about swims I've noticed, I won't mind jumping in a few when I get the chance 😁 But yes I agree politeness and respect goes a long way with me happy to stay out of people's way if they ask nicely, or mainly if I like them tbh, This Is a syndicate I am on lol 😁 The day ticket over the road was almost comical at times when I fished it last year wow that could be like jungle warfare 😁 I don't remember people being like they are now many years ago, I seem to remember people having respect and just being nicer to one another and having a laugh, don't get me wrong I have chatted to some good guys since I've been back to the bank, but there a good few these days on the other end of the spectrum,🤔 I don't think carp. Com has changed that much though since I first joined, still a great place to come and have a chat I think they must know I now have a matrix piledriver so I can get my rods level and they don't like it up em 😎
