  2. Spoke to Paul at ABS yesterday, he is putting just a smidgen of preserver in them to be on the safe side and they are being dispatched to arrive here on the Thursday, two days before the off. Haven't got room in the freezer for them, so will keep them in the coolest place I can find and freeze them the minute I get to the lake. I've absolutely no doubt they'll be fine. Our only wish now is that the temperatures out there drop a little from their records highs at the moment. Don't fancy sitting out there in mid 30's temps. although I'm not planning on having the rods out during the heat of the day so as to rest the swim. Really looking forward to this one......👍

😂😂 Any bobbins will do bud, heavier is certainly better for zigs imo.

    NGT Tackle - Anygood

I think it will do the job but I used mole grips the other day and they seemed to work well enough

    Which hook ?

This is what I currently use, actually named bobbin. I saw an underwater film on zigs and it would appear I need to change. Heavier bobbin or an actual swinger that shows up better drop back indication, due to movement from hook length before the lead is moved giving a better indication. Maybe I should start different topic in this regard? Curious to hear what you or nige use

    Which hook ?

Honestly, I'm no that fussy when it comes to zigs mate. I will use big hooks though (normally a 6). Any old wide gape or curve shank jobby will do, I've even used chod hooks. As long as they're needle sharp I don't think it matters, I don't think mechanics are anywhere near as important with zigs. I always add a tiny bit of silicon to hold the gape open though.

  11. Thanks chillfactor have bought some to try, looking at them I think that may be just the ticket, I did try a running rig buffer but it doesn't quite cover the quick link and that's not good enough, hopefully these should work a treat cheers

  12. Given Molasses or oils, molasses is king. Highly underrated, cheap and very effective. Great choice.

Cal is a lovely fella at BAF. He knows his bait and insists on quality. You won't go far wrong with him. Be Happy Dean

Like any fluoro/stiff hooklink it works well on clean substrates with a lead clip. I wouldn't use it on dirtier spots, even with a heli set up. Abrasion resistance is better than mono so should be ok around snags within reason. I'm not sure that's the right reason to use a rig mate. Have a think about what you're trying to achieve. Assess the spot and select the rig that presents/acts most effectively on the substrate👍
