Use some kind of magnifying glass to aid with tying rigs? 

I'm really struggling to see close up at the moment, uncoated braid was a nightmare when I tried a rig yesterday, in the coming years I think I will have to use wire and shark hooks to be able to tie them. 

I was told it was the bait boat of the rig tying world to use a magnifying glass and that it was cheating 😮😭😱

Reading glasses?

As for getting uncoated braid through a hook eye, join the club, it's a nightmare if you have it decide to 'split'. I just wet it and hope it doesn't spread.

Seriously if you need a magnifying glass, or reading glasses, it is helping your vision.

Already wear varifocals, but I still look over the top of them 😁

If it doesn't get any easier I will try one lol 

Most of the time it's fine when I use boom and krimps, but I wanted a solid bag rig, ended up using a coated braid and stripping half of it, not as supple but easier to tie.

I seem fine with coated braid still so won't be caving in and cheating just yet, I will just have to move the goalposts a little as time draws on  😂

Even if you caught it, it wouldn't count if you'd used a magnifying glass to tie the rig. Back she goes without a photo 😜

Form a loop through the eye of the hook with some dental floss, poke the braid through it and then pull - simples. I've still got to use my strong reading glasses to do it though!

Go Hearn stylie single sticks spread all over the place and a caster on the hook and it will count double.

he also wears glasses now

go to your local poundland type shop and look at the low cost easy ready glass`s, i were varifocals but prefer reader glass`s for close up stuff try a pair and pick up a product with small print on label and just try different strength till it seems nice and right, and yes uncoated braid has a mind of its own

No no no you’re doing it all wrong! No camou tape on the rod butts, no dinky 3 rod buzz bars, where if you get a take on the middle rod, you can’t strike it without knocking off the other two, no folded reel handles… barely even trying

Im half with you on that, i find myself thinking i would like a wider front so tips are splayed out, but im tight so wont do it
