elmoputney Posted April 21, 2023 Author Report Share Posted April 21, 2023 My view from the scratcher, it's pretty rainy, been solid for the last couple of hours, should be a gap at 8am when I will start the pack down ready to go back to work. I was pretty efficient last night rods all out nicely by midnight all got a donk. Asleep by 1, now I am just hoping I find a carp stupid enough to spring the traps. Left rod is the fix boilies whole and chops with squid 2t pop up, Middle is a solid bag with tigers and a few boilies the right hand rod is reaper nut mix whole nd chops and match the hatch pop up. B B Posted April 25, 2023 Report Share Posted April 25, 2023 Had plans to finish early from work and nip over the dock today the sun was up and I fancied Zigs in the warm weather, apparently they do like a zig 🙄 Then had a call from my mates wife telling me I got to go fishing with him, “he’s doing my head in” was her words. He had a heart op around 6wks ago and has had a flu like bug since the op been indoors most of that time so with the sun out off we went. Had a great time, good catch up and a laugh in the sun we both had 2 Carp and a Bream nothing big around 8lb for the carp but on light float gear we both had smiles on our faces… Then it dawned on me I’m just as happy fishing for carp no matter what the size be it on a small lake for a mixed bag of fish up to mid doubles to a chance of a mid 40 on the syndicate. elmoputney, ... and commonly 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Is that bonkers? I loved my time on day ticket waters, the travelling and trying to find the waters no sat nav in them days all map reading, the excitement of a new water. There’s some stunning waters the Carp society’s Horseshoe and Orchid lake the home of the 30’s as it’s billed to name a few. we had our share of not so pretty waters to lol But there’s so much info on waters nowadays you can’t go wrong.
