  1. I have a feeling its nuisance species. No crays on the res that I know of. Its a bit frustrating when I've sat behind the rod for a good few hours. 12-24 if I know my traps are set ok. The Biomass was well above average last year. The pike and perch have done well, with no cats, zander or sturgeon. Hard hookbaits for the snowman, usually come back in ok. Just no carp on the end since last year. Looking forward to the social where hopefully have a chance if a few fish in front of me🫰🙏
  2. Happens to me sometimes. Never really a particular hook bait, but always on a snowman??? The pop is always fine
  3. Sounds like you should book onto the social in September!!! If I don't book my fishing in, it'd never happen. I believe we all need our relaxation time.
  4. C'mon Nick. As far as english carp fishing goes, a wrap is generally considered 12ft. Not metric measurements. Same as weigh our fish in pounds and ounces, not kilos. We dipped our toe into European measurements, but unfortunately it's the British way to do things the hard way. God save the pound! I mean Queen. Oops I meant King 🤴
  5. @chillfactor @welder @kevtaylor If you guys are in (welder +1) that leaves one space? Thanks gents
  6. Glad to be out. Loads of BS at work & family, so feels a real tonic to be here
  7. Ouchhh!!
  8. I suggest by the end of the week for this venue. Or, look into Horsehoe .? The M25 onevis very easy for me. I'd just be happy to get it booked ASAP.
  9. Good shout Chill I'm sure we have friends on the forum that know the guys there. I'd enjoy a trip there for sure
  10. I gave up pre pandemic. If we haven't heard by the weekend, may I suggest we find an alternative??
  11. At least the shop wasn't affected... I thought it was shut down for good
  12. Nice one Kev. What a session, I bet you're grinning from ear to ear?? Well done fella
  13. Where does the time go??? I go through the diary with her indoors and book fishing weekends for the next few months. If I didn't, I wouldn't get out either.
  14. New leisure battery for the motor. Turns out it was that was nackered, not the motor. Fuming!
  15. I'm told it's 2 miles from sailing club to the out of bounds swim.
  16. New motor turned up today. A bit gutted I couldn't get the 68lb thrust. Seemingly out of stock everywhere (typical!) Battery connections aren't great on their battery box
  17. 55lb thrust Bison electric outboard motor, with Bison 12v battery unit. Previous one gave up after just 2 years of occasional use., out of warranty 😔
  18. Nope! It would be nice to get it confirmed and paid for. Perhaps the new Carp.com shop would provide a few prizes for top rod & biggest fish🫣
  19. Air bnb. West Wellow. I can't remember the name of the farm. You can only put 2 rods out really,it's very narrow channel, with day ticket fishing on the other side of the channel. It's OK for a run, nothing massive in there, go to 30lb odd. There's another one that has a bait shop nearby. Again I can't remember the name. But looked OK.
  20. I think for 3 rods it was around £40 Nice to see another one of the government agencies are helping out in the cost of living crisis????
  21. That's tough. I always invite my boys, but they're just not interested. When they do, it's only for an hour and then they get bored?? I hope when they get a bit older they will come, but the alone time is also important. So, I wouldn't take them every time😉
  22. Trying out my new rods for the first time. They're a lot stiffer than what I'm used to, but definitely getting more distance. 🤞
