So, a mate who's a great angler, says I shouldn't get Shimano rods, instead go for the free spirit Helical 13 ft. Similarly priced, very low end from their average price range. Any thoughts appreciated gents???

Slightly off topic, but I'm looking at getting Shimano TX4 13ft rods. £140 each is within my budget, obviously with new 13ft bag to put them in. Reviews look good. Has anyone had any experience of them? Or, can I get better rods from another brand? Thanks

Ouch. Cold packs (or bag of frozen peas) work best for muscular pain. I found, it's better to lay flat or be stood up. Keeps the spine straight. don't think I will have a car by then, it sounds like it's onnits last legs My vans just been written off🤮 not crashed, just too many things wrong with it. New version £60k+🤯 I don't seem to have much luck with motors either. It's tough, second hand crew vans eu6 with 50-100k on the clock are going for £25-30k. I'm near London so need to be LEZ compliant, or it's £12.50 a day. So tired of always feeling ripped off on everything we buy

Looks to be well stocked,reasonably priced and we can all nip back to Elmo's for a shower🙂 @chillfactor & myself fancy 3 nights. As above etc. Also the lucky so & so is off to Europe on Friday. I understand totally and this has taken a while. A friend on the forum is in with the management at carp society. I believe we could get a a certain area to ourselves. Rough numbers would be good, looks like around 8-10. To be clear, I have not joined yet or fished there, other members gave me the steer in 2019. Exclusive lake bookings require money up front & you know my concerns there. Day ticket waters are very hit & miss. Likely we wouldn't get to have much of a social, unless you consider one of the Brasenose waters at Linear, or something similar. My resi syndi may do something. They have a few matches. It's near 300 acres ATM, so guaranteed a swim.🤣 Kent is not very central though.

Again, I've been told (when i tried in 2019) getting people to koff up money to book venues like these is difficult. & the extra money would need to be made up the guys that are committed 😒 Which won't be an issue at Horseshoe, you join, turn up, pay & play from what I believe.
