  1. Opinions are like noses, we all have one and pick it. Every company (tackle) will sell to demand and bring each new or copied product to market in search of the next big thing. That's business and whilst we find certain points/products to make fun of, they are in it for the money and in turn hopefully keeping humans in employment. Tackle tarts keep the premium brands in business and most working poor class have to go budget range, not necessarily through choice. If money was no object I'm pretty sure most of us would buy the best product available. In my experience Trekker is the brand I avoid due to the few products I've brought being very poor quality and falling to bits on the first few outings.!! Not so with Nash/Korda & the like, I'm sure we all have their products and they serve a purpose in the carp fishing world! For example I like the Korda pulling tool, I would not use a coat hook from B&Q

  3. On or off the bottom mate? Quite a strong creature compared to maggots or worms.
  4. Do you thread that through the bait? The slug can change shape quite a bit, so I doubt a lassoo would work. I suppose floss would have the same effect! 🤔
  5. I tried using them once, (hooked on micro barbed), every time I reeled in they had gone!! Did you have any luck with them? If so how did you present them? I guess you could drill the shell of a snail, not too sure if a common snail will survive too long under water and would it drag your rig around a bit? Interesting bait theory, I hope someone has a bit more knowledge
  6. I use this knot for my leaders.
  7. I did this for years, then as with most things in life, someone showed me if you cut both ends of the wrap, the line then becomes 4-6"long and no longer poses a threat to the wildlife etc. should it ever be taken from the bin in future, simply genius
  8. Done 👍
  9. I thought it was them, but aren't they barbless?? Harpz s hook has a barb Eager to see how you guys get on with them. If they give a good hold and cause less mouth damage than a micro barb I'll be using them for sure
  10. Is that Ali hammidi with a normal rucksack?
  11. Tiger loaf!! 😎 Sounds like a different topic you're starting jh
  12. Definitely beef up hooks specialist cat ones size 2 and you want quicksilver braid hook link or similar. They have pads around the mouth that will wear away most carp hooklin ks in a decent scrap. Everything is beefed up compared to carp gear, live bait rigs look interesting! I don't know much on the subject, only tried for them the once, with a mate who will fish for them. Not my bag, but I get why they appeal to some
  13. Glad to hear it. About little fella. Good luck fishing, I hope you have recovered enough.
  14. How's fatherhood treating you mate?
  15. Great attitude to your approach. Alot of angler's are put off fishing in Canadian weed. Only the brave!!
  16. My last syndicate was like that. Hard work trying to make a spot. You'll need arms like popeye!! Unless you can get in and clear it?? I used a distance lead with a tail rubber to cast around and find a spot. Or zigs?? You'll need to make sure you drop the lead though.
  17. I agree, but I will check & if its not sticky sharp, it's literally seconds work. Essential in my mind, like I said I've never lost a proper bite since doind it.
  18. Well if I ever get on the bank I'm determined to make zigs work, thus coming away from bottom baits and the need to throw £??'s worth of bait in.
  19. Same! Quick flick with a file for added sticky point, not lost any take. A guy I fish with sometimes, drops fish due to blunt hook point, pointed it out to him, but still doesn't bother to get a sharpener!!
  20. Never used shrink tubing, nothing simple about that with my chubby fingers, I find the KD style knot gives the aggressive hook angle with a curved shank hook, much quicker to tie for me!
  21. Depends on material your using imo. I tended to use a stiff fluro around 6" combi with balanced hookbait
  22. I've heard North Lake Yately started this week. Won't be long for the others I know of. BLooming TYPICAL, I'm due to get a sesh in soon, just wait till mid June I spose&hope they're all done. Was it last year they went a few times?? 🤔
  23. That's who make the att's!!
  24. Att's on my sticks, look far better than most of the usual brick shaped alarms. Not too expensive either! 2 sets of Fox, both in full working order, just prefer the sleakness of my att's. Definitely don't fancy wires all over the place. I'd end up pulling them out or pulling the whole set up over.
  25. Haven't seen mine in about 8 years, at the bottom of a pile of carp. Looks very old school 🔌
