  1. I would speak to joe jacobs is it (?) he may be able to help or try dal henwood at dalectronics failing that angling technics
  2. Re read this and seeing the fish you are catching I would go down to a method feeder rod or float rod or like Nick has suggested an Avon style if you can find one nowadays Match style route would be better
  3. I have caught more carp on luncheon meat than ever caught on boilie yet I have never caught a carp or any other fish on sweetcorn
  4. The daiwa gs4000 is the modern take on the ss2600 with better line lay and less wobble and a much nicer reel to use. it also has the infinite anti reverse so you can actually line up the rollers without them moving so you can fold the handle in the right place if that floats your boatlol
  5. I believe the action of the rod is more in keeping of it rather than the test curve I would up the size of the hook personally I couldn’t even see a size 10 nowadays lol
  6. You want to put these sort of questions into the right area of the forum this is normally just for hellos etc ideal place would be tackle not moaning at you but the admin or mods may in the future lol
  7. There’s one on the same complex as the kingfisher on the quay pub
  8. With a proper sack a carp can find the level it is happy to be at. A retainer type sticks the fish in the top foot of water. if you are going to retain a carp get a proper sack but as said no need to keep fish too long nowadays if you get the correct equipment to take a photo. If you even need a photo..
  9. Exactly everyone and their dog seems to have a good say about Abu reels but no one uses them anymore Maybe they just ain’t trendy any more rather than no good
  10. Try it without the sleeve that the bead is mounted on I have a couple of these and they open the bead up just enough for a friction fit https://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/nash-tube-tool and I can use ESP heli bead kit on Korda tungsten tube easily could use an old fashioned pull up aerial to do the same job I suppose
  11. It says the internals are stainless steel on say the 174 i’m Wondering if they have just fallen out of favour because they are cheap rather than quality
  12. Does anyone know if the newer Abu reels are any good or are they just pony plastic
  13. Where did you get it from I could do with a couple of spools of that
  14. It’s no different to the 50/50 that all the bigger brands did in the old days for an extra 50p or £1 a kilo you might as well get a better version of it but you can buy the cheap 50/50 for a lot cheaper pro rata than they are selling it for at your local supermarket. you could just take a bit of the mix out add a few different ingredients and make it better by a long way for not a lot more money again
  15. Lol don’t put us back into winter yonny lol
  16. I would check it against a set of scales my father in law bought some a few years ago that were rated in the 30lb class and they broke at between 8 and 10lb it was some cheap Chinese braid
  17. I haven’t been this year so I haven’t caught one either lol
  18. Because they are a fish lure not feed I have some that are years old.
  19. Surely it’s better to have more protein than not enough whether it’s wasted or not? at the end of the day what they can’t process will be passed out the back end won’t it? you wouldn’t leave a steak half eaten because you had eaten the “required” amount you would stop when you are full up.
  20. Actor for around 200£ Seem to be getting good reviews you should be able to pick up a mk1 pro cat for relatively not a lot of money
  21. Anglers bait that hasn’t been eaten
  22. Send the picture to the fish commitee or someone like that and ask them or you could ask dr Paul garner he has a Facebook page of him in a hat and holding a tench. I think it’s a comet goldfish personally
  23. I’m married I can turn a deaf ear when ever needed lol
