  1. he doesn't BC, honestly tho he is very well stocked, on the rare occasion that i have found myself in the area and needing bits i will pop in and put up with the indolence just for the sake of expediency as if i want it he has it in stock, but a little pet shop near me thats run by an old lady who has just one display case full of dusty wagglers mixed in with a selection of harlesley bombs and Kamasan match hooks with 50p price tags on em gets a lot of my trade as she will order anything i need and i have to give her a tip to up her margin to something near all the big stuff comes courtesy of DHL etc, as it should be.
  2. also carpy green super warm crash zips oh, no carp tax
  3. just a query? why did you return the Cyprinus?
  4. @finchey having just posted a hint of my current bait on another post i will expand on my views a little, the bait i use is a shelf life with a dual personality. i have found that removing a few of the boilies from the bag and keeping them for hookers they are quite hard but will start to break up after 10-15 hrs (tank test with lake water at ambient (outside) temp) BUT!!! the company also supply magic in a pot called H-Dec (Hydrolysis Digestive Enzyme Catalyst) which apparently "in effect ‘de stabilizes’ your baits. ‘Un-preserving’ the preservative, ‘un-inhibiting the inhibitors’ and ‘removing the shelf life’ in your shelf life baits"(quote direct from their blurb) that you mix with lake water and add to your boilies a day before requiring them, the effect is quite amazing to see as the boilies will start to break down and ooze goodness and attraction before your very eyes. just to add, the fish seem to love them as they broke my loooong blank and they just keep on producing
  5. my preferred bait is the boilie, specifically CherryCarp's Chocaberry ( Cranberry, Chocolate Malt, Broccacel, MRP, Lupin and Niger Seed, smell and taste orgasmic) for the fruity hit and KMT ( Squid, Monster crab,Kelp Marine and Tangerine) for max fishyness, both fished over a small bed of maples, tares, hemp, corn, chops and a few freebies mixed in. both have turned my capture rates round and refilled my MoJo bottle to the max. my reason for using them,,, i was wary at first of trying Cherry Carp baits because of the negativity of some on here who seemed more authoritative than me about bait companies, as it turned out tho these folks churning out the negativity were just jumping on the 'hate waggon' because they didnt like the way that the bait side had split from their parent company or just belching out what they had read online, so i waited and observed for almost a year, asking questions direct, queries about ingredients and inclusion rates, preservatives (shelf life) nutritional values etc etc and was at first suprised to find out that it was the actual directors who were chatting with me and not some flunkey paid to fob us off. i have been assured that their prices and inclusion rates will not be compromised nor beaten and so far they have been true, (£4.50pK to £6.50pK) they also do a tackle range that i may do a F,O,T,W, on soon
  6. if its a certain then they would be out, have you seen what a leaking battery can do to your contacts??? if you use them regular then you will be aware when the batts are dead and change them, but just stored then they could leak for a month or two then its an expensive repair or (as in most cases) new alarms. as an aside and to demonstrate the destructive capabilities of a leaking battery, once when we went away on holiday my wife left her tri color gold necklace on an upstairs windowsill and there was a battery nearby that had been taken from a dead remote, when we got back the necklace was spotted and she went to put it in her jewelry box, the batt had leaked a clear fluid and it pooled beneath the necklace, as she tried to pick it up the gold just turned to dust, (fortunately it was covered lol) if it can de-nature a gold necklace what do you think it will do to your delicate alarm innards?
  7. welcome Dave, short list of unspoken rules for ya!! 1) post pics 2) enjoy the bants 3) never take offence 4) post pics 5) have some more bants 6) pics must be posted even if out of focus, lacking substance/fish, or you tripped over the camera switch. 7) if rule #6 is applied then expect bants,,,, lots of bants again, welcome to the forum and dont take life too serious

  14. started by accident while ghosting thru Builth on the river Wye and just downstream of the town we hit a short set of rapids, end of day we were in the camper looking at maps for fast water. we ended up in Scotland up in the Grampians, have a look at the Grandtully rapids on the Tay or the Linn of Tummel on the river Tummel, guaranteed they more scary than that kiddies playground in the vid above
  15. haha!! no problems, me and my buddy used to do it in a canadian. in a kayak with a skirt on your basically sitting in a big air bubble that will float no matter what you do, the only two exceptions are holing it on a sharp rock or if you are thrown out during a big drop, a canadian is an open canoe and ships water easily, less stable so more prone to capsize but way more buzz
  16. strike that place off me list then a belated welcome to the forum there buddy
  17. one was created by a bored angler one was created to boost someones ego one was created to rip the money out of tackle tarts pockets. simples

  20. +1 for the wychwood slugs, i have em in white as the white body and the black line grips are easy to see in day or night, also i find them so versatile that you can set them at half mast on totally slack lines.
  21. if your not bothered about being a tackle tart then these are worth looking at, i got a set of 3 for £30 10+ years ago and they are still doing the job, one is getting a bit noisy now so one day i will have to upgrade to something more expensive like Bassia's https://www.fishingmegastore.com/specialist-reels/lineaeffe-freespool-carp-reel-with-line~23965.html?&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=SHP_GR20&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwauOzdiD3QIVS7DtCh2Hvg8PEAQYAiABEgIU2fD_BwE
  22. welcome to the forum bud, another vote for 15lb+ mainline and a good braid/coated braid hooklink. hooks between #8 to #4 and as Nick says a softer more thru action rod would give you more chance of playing and landing your fish.
  23. just come back from there buddy, watch out for the touts, they rip you off. where about you off to?
