Worth a read if you are using shelf lifes...
cyborx replied to carpmachine's topic in UK Bait and Bait Making
interesting but flawed study there BC, sterile environment, no supplemental food offered? if this were fact there wouldn't be a fishery in this country that didn't have fish floating belly up on a daily basis and there would be no such thing as a blank sesh cos the carp would be queuing up just waiting till the dinner gong went -
Soooo!! you in your 30s then Nick?
-
its the yobbo mentality bud, have you seen the kid driving a BMW but wont pay for insurance or pass his test? same family Welcome to the forum btw

some really nice stretches up around shrewsbury, must start paying some attention up there soon
-
you on the full ticket stevo? love fishing the severn but from where i am its only an hour from any where between montford and worcester
-
my opinion? for what its worth, 1) tackle companies are ripping people off, why? cos they can. 2) carp anglers are nowhere near as friendly as the old guys, they are more likely to be rude, ignorant or just sarky, or even know it all (which is worse imo) and 3) most millennials and their offspring have lost the hunter gatherer Gene and are too money shy as they need to pay for a house first. *****the above statement is the opinion of the author and in no way reflect the policies/religion of the site owners*****

ali asked me to lend him a quid the other day, i said "rich bloke like you cadging money, cant you afford to buy your own"? he said "nah!! im short"
-
he will be paving the way for the Korda Krane you bet
-
was on the bank one day and Ali was in the next swim, he was gobbing off at the camera man who said "dont get on your high horse Ali" he replied "i cant"
-
dry, nowt wrong with it they just need the room
-
i think that ali hamidi is just the right height to be my fishing buddy, and judging by most of the stuff that falls from his mouth shows that he needs to think about what he is doing with it seriously tho, how many times have you seen him using the net??

heya peeps, if anyone Sussex way wants a bargain, my preferred bait company is having a warehouse clear out to fit more machines and they have a load of 25k sacks going for £25 pick up only. if your interested just drop a pm for the details

was trying to make myself feel better bud

you can spod a nice sloppy mix over the top, one that will have risers or neutral buoyancy bits (solar up and down mix) is probably the best and i prefer to add evaporated milk to mine to give a nice cloud to it. Nige is probably the closest to a zig expert we have on here

my timing for getting to the lake just as the carp go to sleep
-
mind you i have watched a 20Lb+ struggle with a dog mixer
-
hey LM, i used to be 6ft and suffered till i shrunk to fit my old bed chair, then i got one of these and at 2mtr 10cm it is superb, there is also a 5 season sleep system available for it. its only downside is the weight at a tad over 9k but when you look at the price (C£120 against C£300 for the nash wide boy) and dims (Cyp=210Lx109Wx38H against nash=205Lx95Wx29H) +the nash comes in at a back breaking 13k to me its a no brainer. i have had mine for two years now and there has been no sag whatsoever, to get a feel for the width just try to hold a tape measure open at 109cm and you might be impressed

i find as long as you cast a high arc it will open every time, tho i have had miss casts that have gone in really shallow and still opened thereby dumping my bait where i dont intend to fish ( that could be down to my cra ppy casting tho)
-
if you ever do take the time to catch a upper single, look at the size of its gob, most can take a 20mm boilie without a struggle so a #4 would fly in
-
Away for the weekend and having a stroll thru the woods, came across this and nearly melted. Carpy or what 😂😂😂
-
he doesn't BC, honestly tho he is very well stocked, on the rare occasion that i have found myself in the area and needing bits i will pop in and put up with the indolence just for the sake of expediency as if i want it he has it in stock, but a little pet shop near me thats run by an old lady who has just one display case full of dusty wagglers mixed in with a selection of harlesley bombs and Kamasan match hooks with 50p price tags on em gets a lot of my trade as she will order anything i need and i have to give her a tip to up her margin to something near all the big stuff comes courtesy of DHL etc, as it should be.

also carpy green super warm crash zips oh, no carp tax

just a query? why did you return the Cyprinus?

@finchey having just posted a hint of my current bait on another post i will expand on my views a little, the bait i use is a shelf life with a dual personality. i have found that removing a few of the boilies from the bag and keeping them for hookers they are quite hard but will start to break up after 10-15 hrs (tank test with lake water at ambient (outside) temp) BUT!!! the company also supply magic in a pot called H-Dec (Hydrolysis Digestive Enzyme Catalyst) which apparently "in effect ‘de stabilizes’ your baits. ‘Un-preserving’ the preservative, ‘un-inhibiting the inhibitors’ and ‘removing the shelf life’ in your shelf life baits"(quote direct from their blurb) that you mix with lake water and add to your boilies a day before requiring them, the effect is quite amazing to see as the boilies will start to break down and ooze goodness and attraction before your very eyes. just to add, the fish seem to love them as they broke my loooong blank and they just keep on producing

my preferred bait is the boilie, specifically CherryCarp's Chocaberry ( Cranberry, Chocolate Malt, Broccacel, MRP, Lupin and Niger Seed, smell and taste orgasmic) for the fruity hit and KMT ( Squid, Monster crab,Kelp Marine and Tangerine) for max fishyness, both fished over a small bed of maples, tares, hemp, corn, chops and a few freebies mixed in. both have turned my capture rates round and refilled my MoJo bottle to the max. my reason for using them,,, i was wary at first of trying Cherry Carp baits because of the negativity of some on here who seemed more authoritative than me about bait companies, as it turned out tho these folks churning out the negativity were just jumping on the 'hate waggon' because they didnt like the way that the bait side had split from their parent company or just belching out what they had read online, so i waited and observed for almost a year, asking questions direct, queries about ingredients and inclusion rates, preservatives (shelf life) nutritional values etc etc and was at first suprised to find out that it was the actual directors who were chatting with me and not some flunkey paid to fob us off. i have been assured that their prices and inclusion rates will not be compromised nor beaten and so far they have been true, (£4.50pK to £6.50pK) they also do a tackle range that i may do a F,O,T,W, on soon
