  1. sorry for the missleading post above, for church read great lake
  2. carp fishing at patshull is syndie only at the rate of £380 PA. they have 3 syndicates, church, lady barbara and great lake named obviously for the lake they are allowed to fish. church syndie has comprised of the same ten men for the last 12 years so its dead mans shoes to get in and the other two have a wait of about 2-3 years. day ticket allows you to fly fish for trout and pike, live, dead bait or spinning for pike or float fish for anything else but only on church and bridge. carp snaffled on the float are fair play but if you are found to be targeting them you will be asked to leave and told not to come back (banhammer) hope this helps
  3. no probs freeman, hope you enjoy your time on there, i certainly did keep us updated wih pics as well, tight lines (or slack or semi slack) lol
  4. fair enough, but the question of stock vs catches would have been a better way to go. i think you may find that the review i gave was not bad but actually factual, and before you believe the 'new info' about security and bailiffs just take a good slow walk around the perimeter of the Mere and have a really good look for yourself, especially at the far end around the heronry taking particular notice of the fencing and any empty houses along the side.
  5. then why ask?? still, its got water and fish. but i will make you one bet!! you wont be re upping next year
  6. not a bad list to be going on with gaz thx yeh tim, looked on google earth after the post and realized i need to rethink the drive time 55 mins will put me on your doorstep
  7. hey peeps, just returned from a very relaxing break at my bro's place on the west sussex/kent border and i was that impressed with the lifestyle that i am seriously thinking of relocating down there. it will be around the tunbridge area, so come on fill me in on any potential day waters, pits, rivers etc within a 3hour driving window, just something to make the move worth while
  8. Olton mere, look out for the heron population at the far end, takes up 1/4 of the lake, then there is the blue algae that comes calling as soon as the sun hits the water and b***ers off late autumn, there is also a fair population of foreign otters who float milk bottles dangling death rigs in the hard to reach pegs by the heronry, over all that you have the boating plebs who seem to think all fishermen are vermin to be taunted by rowing over your rigs with impeccable timing as soon as you cast out (just watch that prat in the canoe), then oh yeh! you have the £140.00 price tag (could be more now) that you have to pay for the honor of fishing this war zone. on the plus side, the lads who fish out of the hut for pike are a good bunch and the double peg half way up the right side produces quite well but its a ball ache to drag your tackle without a barra. that about sum it up for ya?? edit to say, just reread your last post above,,, £160??? really???
  9. doubt it matey, them bug gers would live thru a holocaust
  10. kids are off school for a bit now so i will be popping down there for a scout session sometime this week, see if i can track down the bailiff as well
  11. might have to do a mini social on there one of the days, im only on warstones meself and i have been thinking about an overnight down there just lately. never thought the pool would field 30s but fair play to them, gotta go look now
  12. heya carper, nice to see another local on here, i dont feel so alone now lol. where abouts do you fish from? i go over the new dam that now separates the main pool in half then go right to the point between the 3rd and 6th pegs. gotta admit tho since i joined the AA i havn't been down the local pond
  13. heya jimmboy, in the midlands where i live bikes are now out of season, we switch to plugging for shopping trolleys down the local cut in late may but tend to catch more damned pike. does my head in it do!! coat getting
  14. only problem with this scenario is the whole thing, didnt the OP say particles are banned? i would find out what the smallest acceptable pellets the owner allows then bomb about 3 or 4 kilo in a couple of days before my intended session.
  15. heya peeps, got an update for you direct from the horses mouth. i managed to contact a good friend of mine who is also one of Gerry's most regular guests, he told me that the fish were dying as early as February so i think that rules out the algae and oxy crash (unless we had some unseasonably hot weather). he says he had a chat with Gerry on Sunday and the outcome was that the main and the syndie lake were wiped out with suspected KHV. to put it in his own words, the fishery is well and truly stuffed (my word lol) not a carp left in the lakes including speccy pool. asked what he has planned Gerry replied "cant afford to restock pools back to original levels and the EA have given no guarantees that it wont repeat next year" so in conclusion he is having a serious think about the future of the pools as an angling venue. looks like the rumor of a couple of years ago R.E. holiday homes and lakeside chalets may be rolling on.
  16. MMmmmm carp on the fly, better than lemon meringue pie
  17. pool hall pretty crap now, most of the stock went into dimmo last i heard tho they reckon that 50 or more new stockies are coming up to 20+ now. last three seshes on the meadow i blanked lol. might just be me
  18. Looks a bit rich to me, especially for earlswood. as you say, full of idiots and food fishermen. and as bivvy said, blythe ppffttt!! there are much better waters around for less IMO
  19. thanks Tim, i never actually thought of seeing if they had a website Dur!! lol a good friend of mine is living on the estate atm and one of the lakes edges onto the place he is living in. he has been granted permission to fish the lake and the offer extends to his guests (YAY!!) so i will be coming down in late august to sample southern hospitality his buddy 'the gamekeeper' says that the lake he has access to hasnt been fished in the incumbent Earls time (some 27 years) so it should have some nice originals in it
  20. has anyone fished the pools on buckhurst park estate? its just outside of tunbridge wells, had an invite to go down and fish and was just wondering if the lakes are as virgin as i have been told.
  21. Funny you should say that nm, im out at the moment and using Cell on a lake that i have always struggled on. 8 fish so far and still 18 hours to go
  22. if its electrical maplins will have it (at a price) also if they dont i believe they will make it up for you. i have had them make up sata extention leads and other stuff before now
