  2. wot, a monster girl??? hope your missus don't find out Andy (im sure no one on here will let it slip mate)
  3. coincidentaly Monster energy is my can of choice on the bank, it keeps me aware ive seen those monster girls and im not at all sure of having one deliver my drink, it might put me off my piscatorial pursuits. but thanks for the kind offer Richard  ps, i think it may also damage NM's health, hes no youngster you know
  4. seriously tho folks, and absolutely no bottom elicking at all. i swear by the mugga's and fox arma point. they do everything i need between them
  5. hiya richard, i have a couple of dozen mugga's that im not happy with, it seems that they get old after i have used em for a month or two. any chance of some free replacements
  6. new owners have ruined it, you can only fish the bottom section of the lake between the entry bridge and the hotel, unless your in the syndie. but if your into pike they have some whoppers, up to 30lb first peg to the right of the bridge before you go in is best for pike source, regular for the winter fishing
  7. fraser, you need to be careful with remarks like that cos you could really hurt someone. my head swelled so much that i banged it on the door frame on the way to bed
  8. do you mind mr nm, im hetro, im married And im buff but i do facebook, its the new pink dont ya know ps, it lets me on
  9. i will see if i can get my mate to get a number off the Millride bailiff for ya tomorrow ok
  10. is that the one used to be called bills pools, just off the motorway? if so, bill died about ten years ago and the pools were closed by the family. dont think they have been fished since at all. millride is still going tho and BTW
  11. i have one of those richard, tho i really only use it for bleeding the pig out when im doing a family barbie
  12. looks like i upset someone it was the lead core statement is all. not meant to upset just cause a bit of a lift of the lips at the corner of the mouth like this obviously sense of humor fail tho,, moving on
  13. no tatty, not funny at all. i just go into shock when someone mentions lead core
  14. carp on a fly rod, well what can i say. ITS DA MN SCARY,,, the biggest one was a10lb 8 oz old English common. when you consider that this little whisper of a rod cost in excess of £200, floating line is about £10-15, and that rod can bend so the tip is less than 4' from the butt. as i said SCARY lol but it gets the adrenalin pumping. do you mind a critics eye view on your rig? or better still if you wanna pm me an addy i can post you a freebie to use as a pattern
  15. can also get you arrested if said youngster has a nice chat with teacher about who got rat a rsed the quickest i tend to go the more conservative route, warm milk or hot chockie (with a spoonfull of whisky) and a nice cuddle
  16. as a rule i use (dare i say it) Bakers complete, they have small bikkies ideal for freebies and some dice sized cubes of squishy oily floaters that sit for ages and leave a slick on the surface i also use pop ups of all breeds, robin red and the chocky ones trimmed to look like bikkies and glugged or as you say the bright fluorescent ones too. depends on the weather or time of day. as an aside, i went out today and used 3 rods. one standard running lead with monster squid boilie and a stringer of nash monster squid chain reaction solubles, the second was set up with my suspender float with above mentioned floater on a hair rig to my fave (of the moment) gardner mugga and the third was my (hated by the die hard carpers) 8wt fly rod with a nash mimic deer hair bikkie to 6lb mono greased with mucilin. score was fly rod 4, suspender 2 and bottom bait 0. result
  17. exactly my point, i started off saying to the danny bashers that he was no worse than anyone else in the business and my point stands Andy you just re-enforce the point that i was making about everything they do being geared toward increasing the profit margin. and as i stated, that goes for ANY company anywhere on the globe. i wasn't knocking, more just saying what you did but fully across the board. i use Korda product myself and would be happy to blow his trumpet for him Embryo may be a not for profit org Dal but even charities generate profit in the long run, the people that use the lakes will need to get their gear from somewhere and as Embryo is geared toward opening more lakes to the public and giving the youth of today a place to meet and fish with their mates (instead of street corners et al), it stands to reason that there will be more and more people coming into our sport soooo more people buying gear and profit margins up. the majority of that profit will go into the pockets of the big three, but it still means more wonga as a side effect... i rest melud yes charity work IS tax deductible, if you send in the cancelled cheques and or a bank statement showing the donation you can make a FULL deduction from your tax bill for the same year so Korda and anyone else donating money or goods to the value of are not actually losing out on cash. the comment about "hero's" was actually pointed at the wider community not you personally because rest assured, there are carpers out their who worship some of the big guns and even try to emulate them (sad gits) i too love a good debate and this one seems to be getting better and better
  18. sorry to keep on about this so it will be my last post on this matter, have you never heard of speculation? its where you use your own money to pay for things initially with the view to reaping a profit somehow when your investment comes to fruition, also if you donate to charity you can write of the donation as a tax loss, and if you educate young people with the intent of bringing on the next generation of carpers then you are ensuring a wider customer base for the future. (christ i'm scaring myself here) not wanting to upset anyone by peeing on their hero but that's life and i'm going on xbox now so nite nite
  19. i have to say, i was well impressed by the rigz section, and as you say you can implement anyone's gear to replicate the rigs BUT most kids coming up today would take it as gospel that the rig just HAS to have the line suggested at the very least to get the same effect so while we are at it we might as well do a proper job with the rig rings, putty and hooks etc too. so for the cost of a couple of grand to set it up it will eventually pull in a hell of a lot more in revenue (or tax write offs) so yes, big up to DF for the charity work and all the educational stuff (again tax deductible) he is putting in place, but you cannot escape the fact that it is meant to enrich his bank balance in the long run. i dont mean to belittle Danny one bit, i think the man has one hell of a set of eggs to get as far as he has. and i think he does more for charity than anyone else i could mention. but sorry to sound pessimistic, i doubt he would do it if it actually cost him money p.s. i have actually learned somethings from the knot section so 'bookmarked'
  20. note the missuse of Korda shok beads top and bottom the blue 25lb mainline and cammo braid is just for illustration, normally i would use 6lb mono hooklink and 12lb mono main. also the two tone pineapple popup just cos its pretty i decided to paint the base dark blue because i found the carp were bashing the float thinking it was edible.
  21. a few years ago i bulk purchased some long clear tubes from a model shop and some 60mm polystyrene eggs from a craft shop, add to that some luminous craft paint and waterproof lacquer and hey presto. carp trap i will post a pic later if i get chance, im going to sort tackle now for a quick hit and run tomorrow
  22. Unfortunately i married my partner late in life so if she gets 30yrs out of me she will be lucky
