    KHV

the syndicate im fishing atm has had KHV and was brought in by a match angler as the lake next to ours is a match lake and is connected via a drain when I joined it last year i decided not to fish any other venues until id finished on this 1 as its the only way i can be 100% sure im not spreading the disease and when i do move on ill give the fishery my old slings nets and matts and get new 1s
  2. looks like some attachment that goes on a mars rover probably cost as much as well
  3. I just let them bite me and use anti histamines to stop the itching
  4. I got some tfg boots years ago for walking through the long wet grass on the banks of the river trent and they look very similar to the 1s in cyborgs picture very good boots tho and apart from new laces they still going strong
  5. just got a avid basecamper for £168 from angling direct and am well pleased with my first look at it not quite a 2man but bigger than a 1man and fits my wideboy bedchair loads better than my old armo v3 (worst bivvy ive ever had) not sure if it a good first bivvy unless your over 6 foot like me best bivvy ive ever had is a tfg brolly that I got for about £100 and ive had for years, not the comfiest but spot on for a day sesh or quick overnighter
  6. you ever tried wobbling a peg around a stone that 2/3" across only to finds theres 3 more just like it further down all you end up with is a massive hole that your pegs don't stay in have you ever seen the road stone they use as a base material for driveways well its that with and inch of bark on top luckily I don't fish at that venue anymore
  7. once they slide down the wings nipped into the metal stop them sliding back up im sure some1 said it was rubber and not hard plastic a rubber mallet if I could push them in id have no problem but when theres fist sized bit of stone and pebbles that make up about 60% of the swim ud need arm like thor to push a peg in
  8. ive had the "metal goes all the way through" pegs and the plastic ends up sliding down the shaft ive had the cheapo nasty 50p pegs and gone through 20 in less than a year not all swims have soft ground and pegs need to be hammered in ive probably gone though 40 pegs in 3 years at a cost of over the £32 for the aqua pegs so if they are a better quality peg that would last a fair few years id be quids in
  9. £32 might not be too bad I know ive broke god knows how many of the cheaper hard plastic peg and had to buy new ones so if the soft plastic ones don't break as quick it might actually be a bargain
  10. I work in a design and development team for a furniture manufacturer and we have the means to make a prototype from idea to finished produce ready for manufacture we couldn't take a sofa from dfs and stick our label on it or they'd have us in court so fast but if dfs outsourced it to a 3rd party to design and only paid for the manufacture and didn't pay for the design process that design would belong to the 3rd part and they could sell it to any1 they choose I very much doubt that's whats happened to wychwood and aqua but it would explain why some1 can sell their exact product without feeling the wrath of the lawyers
  11. Im 6' 4" n ive got a zedbed wideboy with a avid benchmark x sleepingbag n it fits me fine But id imagine most wideboy bedchairs would fit u ok
  12. most fishing shows are ok but my all time fav has got to be go fishing with the legend that is john wilson just fishing is awesome just for the theme tune and I want it for my phone ring tone thinking tackle has got to be the best shows for beginners to pick up a few tips and I learnt something from the underwater films that increased my catch rate by 30-40% carp crew was good but the presenters didn't fair to well, its like the show was cursed and screaming reels..........wtf was all that about
  13. the first spod rod i bought was a chub outcast and I still use it was tempted to change it when I changed my main rods but its a good rod and does what I want so I kept using it
  14. I found the gardner nuggets a bit big and the nylon zip always busts on me so now I use the taska nuggets
  15. have you tried earl of Harrington in derby, not fished it personally but they have a dedicated carp water then there is pride of derby with the main carp lakes (pride lake and olvers lake) needing a premium ticket and the waiting list is 3 or 4 years long a1 pits stinks of poo literally, you can see the bog roll hanging from the trees but at £15 for 24 hours its cheap ncb area 5 in Ilkeston has a few lakes main 1 being manor floods (where I cut my teeth many moons ago)and needs a separate syndicate ticket or you can fish the famous mapperley res and theres trent view a newish day ticket water the other side of Nottingham from you moore green syndicate but at £600 its a bit on the steep side ajs fisheries has a few syndicate lakes and is well worth a look
  16. Money isnt really an issue as long as u can see where your cash is going Ive bought a few avid bits over the last few months and im quite impressed so might have a look at their bivvies
  17. Im in the market for a new bivvy and wouldnt mind a few suggestions Ive got a wideboy bedchair so its gotta fit that Ive currently got a armo v3 and its sucks, probably the worst bit of gear ive bought, 3 pegging points have ripped a chain in the poles has snapped the pole joints have split and had to replace the pegs within a year
  18. if it was me I go for the heavier rod I think the benefits from a higher tc outweigh the drawbacks
  19. Ive never used the kd rig as a pop up rig, I always used it critically balanced with fake corn but had the hair finishing at the bend of the hook which is usually 10mm to the bottom of the bait to the hook My all time favourite rig and wouldn't use anything else for fishing over particles
  20. Absolutely awesome rig Always use a curve shank hook in any brand you've got faith in I personally use korda hooks and nash bullit braid
  21. im 6'4" and 18 stone and used to use it when I took my nephew fishing and got 2 bed chairs in easily but it was about 7 years ago maybe my memory isn't as good as I think it is or maybe my definition of easily isn't the same as yours but got all my gear and 2 bed chairs and room in between the 2 for getting in and out
  22. I had a jrc sti 2 man and it was awesome loads of room inside for 2 bedchairs and lasted me years
  23. don't just limit your self to the carp brands (fox, esp, wychwood) have a look at the fly fishing brands
  24. Chair came today and my initial thoughts are very positive The seat is wide and deep and the back is quite high so when it's fully reclined your head is well supported and can see me taking just this chair to sleep on on quick overnighters The padding is thick and comfy but there's no padding on the arms If I was being picky I'd say the arms are a little high and there's no lumbar support but sat it in for an hour and wasn't uncomfortable in any way Build quality seems ok but only time will tell The missus sat in it and got the thumbs up which is a first for any fishing tackle I've brought
