  1. Evening I'm going to call the guys at RH tomorrow and book a 36 hour session at the monument. Just looking for some advice on how to approach it and what tactics to employ. Would you advise a large amount of bait, or just keep the freebies down and send out a solid bag? Lastly, is there a waiting list for this place? Cheers Joe
  2. A good friend of mine has moved into a flat in london, and he says there are a load of waters next to him which could be fished. The postcode is n179qu. Anybody fished them? And what are they like? Think one is called Lockwood reservoir.
  3. Only 6 fish pulled out all day according to a lad on the dam wall!
  4. Haha just read that! Does anybody know of any new hobbies? I blanked at drayton
  5. Very handy I'll order some of those in the morning. Just unsure whether there is anywhere to clamp a brolly
  6. By the way, I fished there last year off the point and don't recall seeing anything...
  7. Good evening, I'm taking the mrs to drayton on Saturday to hopefully make her understand the excitement of the alarms ringing. (She asked me to take her - It's far from forced lol) It's my first proper session of the year too so it may do my confidence a bit of good! I am not taking a bivvy, but I have a large brolly with a zip-round wind breaker. The water level will be very high at this time of year, and it is all decking, so does anybody know if there is a facility to stick your brolly in/on the decking? Cheers Joe
  8. Just had a look through the Cromwell website.. Looks phenomenal. Definitely going to fish there this year! Lining up a good year travelling round fishing. Thanks guys
  9. I actually live in derby, gonna have to look into that. Are you implying that willesley is unsafe? Doesn't sound too bad to me. Just going to have a read up on bluebell lakes now. I've fished drayton res before now which is where I caught my PB. Not the best looking fish (clearly mistreated), but it put up a good fight. Bluebell lakes are 80 miles away, so I'm presuming you have had some good sessions there I have spent a lot of time fishing at hemington, next to the a50. A very small lake but it's close to home and I love the place in summer.
  10. I don't really mind travelling a few miles to a decent lake mate! Also the money side doesn't matter, you get what you pay for... If there's a good head of 20s and maybe a few 30s I will pay upto 30 quid for 24hours if need be! My PB is 19lb 2oz, so of course I'm looking to beat that, but a nice atmosphere and chance at a decent fish will suit me nicely!
  11. I am looking for a decent carp water in the midlands (ideally east but I'm willing to travel). I am aware of willesley, and I will definitely be fishing that over the next couple of weeks. I am also aware of the fact that the East Midlands lacks in carp waters! Well from what I can gather anyway... Does anybody know of anything other than this? Fish on my own a lot, so if anybody fancies a good session, PM me - it would be nice to have some company. Joe
