You keep asking the question milky . Every now and again this subject comes up on the forum. Every now and again this subject comes up in magazines. I HEAR and READ that the 360 rig causes horrific mouth damage in smaller carp. I dont disbelieve any of it but it WOULD be nice to actually know why and have it explained in detail as to what these problems are instead of heresay after heresay . I wouldnt use the rig for the same reason i wont use leadcore any more ...just in case . Would be nice to hear or read some facts .

Just looks too much of a pain to tie tbh jay , i'd be inclined to just make a hair from 2/3lb mono and tie it off the eye kd style . All that old bull about making the hook heavier Arent we supposed to be making everything lighter or "balanced" to fool these old riggy carp ?

Havent i seen a similar rig somewhere where , the normal very long hair comes off the hook at the same point only instead of tying the hair directly to the hook , its knotless knotted and held in place by shrink tubing and/or a rig ring ? Does that make sense ?

Well the more i look at the website for this syndi the more i like the look of it . My membership on my day ticket water in dagenham has ran out and a family member has offered to help me out raising the dosh to renew but now that i've moved house , this swan gaff is probably as near so im thinking for the extra long 'un a midweek ticket for this place is now an option . Any essex lads know ANYTHING about the place ? Gaz , you know anything ? As i said i've had a good butchers at their website and google earth and it seems to good to be true

I'm sure they do the trick for ya mate , when i first saw 'em i thought it was something out of a terminator movie tbh Im a firm believer in keeping it as simple as possible even if it is mostly because i'm lazy lol . The most complicated rig you see me using is a bit of fluro tied to a piece of braid . Excluding the ready made choddies i buy of course

Avid bait screws , marvellous little things. No water ingress , they are air tight . All varieties of pop up , corkball , cork dust , airball etc stayed popped up properly for over a week in tank test. Mind you they were made by cc moore & essential so i would expect them to ...

Well yeh , see i cant relate to that individual fish thing at all . I couldnt tell you the names of individual carp from whatever lakes I suppose that is what makes people remember certain waters . A lot of experienced carp anglers , maybe yourself included , will have fished these waters and of that i am totally jealous . There is a book by a well known angler ( cant remember HIS name either ) called the history of carp fishing . I fully intend to read it one day .

Dont know if you recall but i mentioned in another thread the other day about a club i enquired about joining near to me . One of their lakes is called boyers pit . It was fished in the 40's & 50's by richard walker and his cronies . In fact walker caught a 38lber from there the week before he caught the 44lb record from redmire . Rumour has it that the fish there now are all direct descendents of those fish . Trouble is there is a waiting list as long as your arm to get a carp ticket. In fact you have to be seen to be actively reguarly fishing a general coarse ticket for 2 years before they'll consider you for the waiting list. There are syndicates in essex with shorter waiting lists and a day ticket 2 lake complex 5 minutes drive away that WILL throw up a forty this year . Now if thats all true about the stock etc then that would make it a "history" water of current interest would it not ?

5.5 acres , 100 carp between 20lb and 40lb and they still have membership available according to their website . But then thats the first place you will have looked. Looks a good un on the face of it . VERY rare to find an essex syndicate trying to attract members so i expect there will be a catch If its what the website says it is , if it was local to me and i had £300 for the midweek ticket then i'd be in there like poo through a goose . But is it ?

I've never been fortunate enough to fish one of these well known carp lakes that are always being mentioned in the carp mags but i have my own ideas on the subject . I think we can safely include redmire pool in the bracket but what do you think ?

Chance would be a fine thing phil Arthritis mate . Some rigs , i even get my mate to tie as a result . I would imagine that most people are as meticulous as they can be . A confidence thing probably .

I DO do it that way stevey but instead of crumb i use cc moore weedbeater mix in xxx flavour in conjunction with my boilies . Same consistency as very fine breadcrumb and protects the hookpoints .
