Apologies mr bullet if i upset you at all , it wasnt my intention . To be totally honest i am unfamilar with the way syndicates work and on the face of it , the early part of this thread appeared to be advertising this wonderful fishing complex with all these superb fish and then immediatley slamming the door shut in the face of any interested parties (a bit like showing a sweetie to a baby and then taking it away ). As i say im not familiar with the way these syndicates work so i apologise once again. I AM interested though in finding out a bit more about the subject ? My only previous experience of a syndicate wasnt very pleasant i'm afraid . Having shown an interest in one syndicate , i was invited to the fishery for a "test" session . The powers that be in the syndicate wanted to vet me and make sure that my fishing was "suitable" and of the "required standard" ....and this was just to get on a very long waiting list ? Now i have every confidence in my ability as an angler but i wasnt having any of that ! How does your system work mr bullet ?

Yeah its called a reverse combi-rig which is self explanatory. I'd be making sure that the hair is made from the supple braid too though . You want the bait to have plentya movement which the flurocarbon section wont offer .im not sure it would acheive what your after though..

Yeah it can mate but i only take em off if im changing hooklinks anyway. The one that comes off goes in the bin whether i've caught with it or not . I find you do a lot more damage to the braid with baiting needles on the hair . Quick lok swivel AND ordinary size 8 swivel ? No mate WAY too much metal . A little esp rig sleeve protects the quick lok and bobs your aunties live in lover . Just keep it as simple as possible imo Edit to say ; pulling a swivel through a pva stick ? Nah

Adders mate , ive never ever tied one on to any hook link that i've made myself . When i first started carping i used ready made hooklinks (usually esp or drennan method rigs) and they always had a size 8 swivel attached but arent they a pain in the bum when you want to change rigs ? Since being confident enough to tie my own rigs i've always used a loop at the end attached to a gardner quick lok swivel on the mainline which sits perfectly in lead clips or in my case buffer beads for running rigs. And that includes braids , though occasionally an ovel rig ring does the job.

As milky says , more pro's than cons i reckon. I cant imagine how i'd stop the lead slipping down to the hook without one tbh

Danny , i know somebody who fishes at baden hall if its the one in the midlands am i right ? I have a little bit of info re one of the lakes but dont know exactly which one it is ? Its about whichever lake has the island about 25 yards in front of peg one . If your interested , or anybody else for that matter , then pm me . I feel like secret squirrel now

Solar did do the http://www.solartackle.co.uk/products/rig-gear?ptitle=bullet-buffer-beads_159 to fit their gear, but rubber tulip beads also work: http://www.tacklebox.co.uk/terminal-tackle/beads/anchor-rubber-tulip-beads.html I found that occasionally all of the tubing pulls out of the beads (hence part of my choice for going naked, but these beads seem to work best and take most tubing. I suppose it is possible to safely glue the tubing into the bead, (the run ring will ensure the lead is able to come off, and in the event of a mainline snap it usually goes at the hooklink swivel) but then the tubing after a while will possibly crack at the bead. What nigel suggested will sort the tubing out dunno why i didnt think of that doh !...cos i dont do tubing i spose but do you know the problem i find with some of these buffer beads is that the hooklink swivels fit into 'em a little TOO snugly . And we know what happens then

Yeah moorsey knows what he's talking about . Actually ive only just started using the run rings myself , up until recently i used to just run the lead up the line using the leads swivel but i thought the run rings might run a bit smoother and mean the fish might not feel as much resistance . Lo behold a new biggest carp first time out on a total screamer so i think they work Just to add a little bit to your thread mr adds , i've never seen em mentioned on here but gardner , fox and solar all sell running lead clips which can turn a semi-fixed set up into a running rig (and vice versa) in about 2 seconds and they are very very good indeed .

I dont use tubing or leaders of any description so i admit im having difficulty trying to visualise your probkem adds , however since i always use running set ups myself am i right in saying that by buffer bead you mean the thingy thing that stops the lead running down to the hooklink ? Most tackle firms , i believe anyway , do complete running set ups so i would imagine that their rig tubing fits their terminal tackle ? Ie solar rig tube =solar buffer beads . Then again i might be talking utter rubbish . As a sidenote , why would a club insist on tubing ? Or am i going to get that old chestnut about mainline damaging the fish's flanks ? Just a thought but i wonder if the gardner beads might do the trick ? They have a tapered bore so providing the rig tubing was cut to a point , it MIGHT fit nicely into the bead ?
