  1. good point mate
  2. the trakker i bought about 6 years ago and it was already very worn back then. but the jrc i bought brand new and it says 5 season but still isnt warm enough in cold temps. i just dont understand it!!!! im really worried to buy another in case its not good enough and then i would have wasted money. You may have bad blood circulation like me so even when your all warped up in a bag you will still feel the cold. invest in a bedchair cover as that will give you a extra layer of warmth and also make up a flask of hot tea/coffee/soup and when your feeling really cold have a cup of it, will help alot. what soooooooo many people dont realise is that a lot of the time you get cold because of the thinness of the bed and the cold air underneath you, a decent padded bed or even a piece of carpet under your bed will usually help big time
  3. get a padded bed, preferably a memory foam one, it will make a MASSIVE difference on cold nights. i have a vision memory foam bed, £110 which you will pay more than that for a really good bag. mega comfy and fantastic on cold nights
  4. nice one, another great piece mate
  5. i wouldnt net a fish that size unless i had no choice tbh. jaw it out if possible. i have a 60 inch dedicated cat net which would easily get a 60 in but even then i would only net it if i had to. when netting a cat once its head i near the spreader block lower your rod and release the pressure, its not easy at first cause it is not natural but you will find that by lowering you rod the cat will swim down and into the net rather than backwards and out of it. try it
  6. so easy to tie, so easy to use, so good a rig, SOOOOOO underused. nice piece mate and well done for taking the time to do and put up the pics
  7. there really REALLY is not less damage to the fish. Barbless move about and create big holes in a fishes mouth unlike micro barbed that take hold and stay there. Read through the link I put up and it will explain
  8. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=19019&highlight=barbed++barbless i think most people that really know about the damage barbless can do wil always go with micro barb, some waters have now banned barbless

    Ready tied rigs

I can tie my own rigs that catch fish, I like the Kryston range for hook lengths and I do prefer to tie my own lead core lengths as the ready tied are a bit short in the fox range, as for the ESP hook lengths my only grumble would be with the hair loop, you have to cut a 15ml bait down a bit if you want to balance a bottom bait with even a small dumbell cut in half. Korda have a lot of rigs on the market at the moe, they are a lot more technical in the components range than what was on sale even just a few years back, if I was using a rig with bait swivels and blobed down loops I would want to tie it my self, they must be tied out side of the UK ? too labor intensive to be made in the UK. you cant talk about quality ready tied in one breath and in the next mention korda lol
  10. tapered shockleader with 10ib daiwa sensor, never had a crack off. its either dodgy braid or its possibly wrapping round the top eye (or the butt ring tbh) during flight
  11. never had a pick up either though lol
  12. yeh moe of a curve. as said, any time you tie a rig just make sure in the event of a break off the lead will come off the line easily so the fish aint dragging the lead around if hooked. watch a couple of episodes of thinking tackle, ok he aint everyones cup of tea but he shows rig safety and that is the most important thing in carp fishing
  13. and thats from another lake owner, that aint a bad recommendation
  14. yeh, dont think you will be disappointed tbh
