  1. oooh the choices :s hmm like the sound of dave lanes i think . might have to get 2 books n tell the mrs we need to go on another holiday haha
  2. want a carp fishing book to read on my holidays and was wondering if any one had any recomendations. was thinking maybe chillys book or dave lane. saw ali hamidis book which looks good and abit more recent but i bet its one giant advert for korda.
  3. just wondering if any ones fished there and would be willing to give afew pointers ?
  4. well i fished the chod fixed at about 2 ft up from the lead , straight onto the line last night and had 3 carp to 26lb and didnt lose any
  5. yeah i fish mine similar , i fish it straight onto the main line about 3 feet from the lead but up untill now its been fixed. my mate fishes it the same way and catches alot on it
  6. cheers guys , i have the same issue with the slack lines but i think they would make the bait sit more naturally on top of the weed . i think with the beads fixed it gives it maybe abit more of a shock to drive the hook in.
  7. just wondering what every ones preference is when fishing the chod rig , either fixed with the two beads close together or running with the beads far apart so it can settle were it wants? presentation wise i think the running version sounds better but i just think it gives the fish to much play , especially on a slack line
  8. i dont floss my baits on, i put a rig ring on the shank of the hook with a little bead to stop it coming off and then put a bait band through the ring and thread them to that , i cant be doing with flossing lol
  9. i agree with nige, in my opinion a choddys fished best as a single hookbait or as short as you can get it with a scattering of boilies , that way the fish is moving at least a few feet between baits n wont tell the diffrence when it comes to the hook bait . but if you really want that extra bait near your hook bait a 2/3 bait stringer wouldnt push the beads back on the cast .
  10. stick to leadcore or tubing . they will pin the line down better than any flourocarbon and will protect the fishes better. like the other lads have said using a flourocarbon leader is just another weakspot in your line and ive found that it is much more easily damaged to i dont know if it is softer than normal mono but thats what ive found lol
  11. a small pva bag or a small stringer should solve it mate or when fishing singles use a stiffer hooklink material or could make these kind of sleeves that kicks the hook link out during flight tight lines boss
  12. Grrrr Thinking outside the box i have trouble with Anyway i'm sure you'll reveal all to your beloved forum members soon enough ADDED --- Now i'm thinking a bottom bait on hair the normal way and a popup tied to the curve of the hook towards the point to hold hook off bottom But hey i know nothing that sounds about right to me mate lol but who nos :S
  13. my mate went to dream lakes last year and had 1 fish .. a 19lb cat . he was gutted lol i was speaking to him yesterday and hes booked again for this august for some reason hes going on lake 2 this time last time he was on 4 i think
  14. i have used hybrid 4 a while untill last weekend when it randomly broke in the middle of the braid :@:@
