    Ready tied rigs

I can tie my own rigs that catch fish, I like the Kryston range for hook lengths and I do prefer to tie my own lead core lengths as the ready tied are a bit short in the fox range, as for the ESP hook lengths my only grumble would be with the hair loop, you have to cut a 15ml bait down a bit if you want to balance a bottom bait with even a small dumbell cut in half. Korda have a lot of rigs on the market at the moe, they are a lot more technical in the components range than what was on sale even just a few years back, if I was using a rig with bait swivels and blobed down loops I would want to tie it my self, they must be tied out side of the UK ? too labor intensive to be made in the UK. you cant talk about quality ready tied in one breath and in the next mention korda lol
  3. tapered shockleader with 10ib daiwa sensor, never had a crack off. its either dodgy braid or its possibly wrapping round the top eye (or the butt ring tbh) during flight
  4. never had a pick up either though lol
  5. yeh moe of a curve. as said, any time you tie a rig just make sure in the event of a break off the lead will come off the line easily so the fish aint dragging the lead around if hooked. watch a couple of episodes of thinking tackle, ok he aint everyones cup of tea but he shows rig safety and that is the most important thing in carp fishing
  6. and thats from another lake owner, that aint a bad recommendation
  7. yeh, dont think you will be disappointed tbh

  9. yeh mate, can be tough but quality fish in there
  10. yeh its a bit open if the wind comes in. arlsford is a quality water mate, just a shame we cant night fish there. its good its now open all year though
  11. yeh that can be productive from there mate, if its quiet then the near margins from them swims can pay off, problem is if its busy then they can shut up shop. watch the surface that end as they often come up to the surface there if its nice and sunny
  12. tbh i always found the margins worked for me, dont ignore the near ones either although that depends on what end of the lake your on and how busy it is. have you joined paxmans facebook page? you have to be a member to join it but might help a bit as well
  13. ita a water you need to get close to the far margins and/or weed. tbh i find single hookbaits of a good quality boilie work well, as does the surface, dog biccy's work really well in there if the weather is right. i would head up to the far end from the car park if i were you, problem is the weed can be a problem that end this time of the year
  14. a flick of the tail, dave lane, proper good book with some very funny bits in it
