  1. method float with slow release mix and 10-14 mm boilie
  2. http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com problems with knots? then try this it might just help
  3. the thing is when carp feed they pick up everything that is within reach of thier mouths, they then decide what is food and spit the rest back out. they dont always feed by site or smell as such they just mooch around taking in all sorts of debris from the bottom, which is why plastics work even without anything else around them.
  4. what is the water like? is it big/small very snaggy? all these will have a bearing on what to use. i use 10lb double strength for a lot of my surface fishing.
  5. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=25114&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=sinking+braid have a look here but in all honesty do you need to use it? some waters have banned braid and if your new to carping it can be a bit hairy when you hook into a better fish due to the lack of stretch
  6. you can get sinking braid though
  7. have fished with it on it's own plenty of times and caught plenty as well. sometimes i sandwhich a real piece in between 2 fakes
  8. I have come to the same conclusion and have decided to give him this last opportunity to answer with a sensible response, before I start to ignore his jabber. Are we sure this is Jim? After all with his glory seeking you would think he would be proud to display his rig etc. Frank very good point frank, i think you have hit the nail on the head there
  9. frank, i think that is his idea mate (to do your head in) and everyone else as well, just wind up as many people as pos
  10. You have been posting on this forum for quite a while - do you read nothing on here? i explained in my reply what WILL happen if you use this rig
  11. If it could get past the superglued beads of course. i did not read the thread just looked at the picture and posted my reply, reading the thread i think that it is a very silly wind up (or should i say hope it is) that needs deleting. if it is not a wind up then at least tcbuk will now learn and hopefully stop using this rig.
  12. sorry but do not use that rig it is a death trap. you dont need and should not use the swivel on the end of the line all that will do is trap the swivel with hook attatched and the fish will not be able to dump in the case of a break off and the lead and will get caught up on roots, between rocks and many other things which will leave the fish tethered and unable to get away.
  13. lovely pic nick, i think i know the water as well
  14. people are gonna argue long and hard about this and there are plenty of threads on here regarding this rig but the bottom line is it can and does cause terrible injuries to smaller carps mouths and that is a fact

    hair rigs

    http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=22185&highlight=hair+rigs try here mate
  16. i would prebait with particles because they are cheap, and if allowed try tiger nuts as hookbait with a few freebies as the tench and bream will usually leave these alone
  17. good luck mate
  18. is the lake close enough to you to prbait on a regular basis if so go over 2 3 or 4 times a week and prebait with particles the carp will soon clear a spot for you. if not use big pva bags and put the whole rig inside, dont be afraid to fish in the weed just make sure your rig is safe as should always be done anyway.
  19. mcf do a controller that is the shape of a small pear i think thay do three sizes and the large one can hit 90-100 mtrs depending on you and your gear. i have the small one and have caught plenty of fish with it but you must feather it down or it hits the water with a BIG splosh

    losing leads

so are you saying you would rather end up with a carp dragging your rig AND lead around and end up getting snagged and dying. which is exactly what would happen
  21. Gaz

    losing leads

but not to tight otherwise a fish could end up trailing it around. better to lose a lead than risk a fish. a lot of anglers fit the rubbers loose to purpously (spelling) lose leads when they have a fish on
  22. i make you right there mate, just confuses ya, you can have complete confidence in something then read a mag and it blows it all out of the window
  23. it sounds like what megamomac is saying then i reckon if its set that far along hook
  24. is it actually silicon or is it small tubing (not shrink tubing) which as the carp trys to blow the bait out it moves up the shank and helps to set the hook
  25. why not use maize, harder and stays on the hair all night with no problems. if its not been fished you wont need to worry about fancy rigs just use a standard hair rig maize or you could use artificiall (spelling) sweet corn.
