hi mate welcome to the forum, i have done a search and not found much at all, but if you put surrey in the search there are quite a few threads there that might be of help, hopefully someone will come along and give some tips on the area you want to fish.

cant help with the venue but as for bait do a search for carp baits mate, there are hundreds of threads regarding baits. a lot of it can depend on the type of water and what is being used in it. also welcome to the nut house

the thing is when carp feed they pick up everything that is within reach of thier mouths, they then decide what is food and spit the rest back out. they dont always feed by site or smell as such they just mooch around taking in all sorts of debris from the bottom, which is why plastics work even without anything else around them.

rules are rules mate and i would be suprised if they broke one as obvious as this. try to find someone local that you can go along with

what is the water like? is it big/small very snaggy? all these will have a bearing on what to use. i use 10lb double strength for a lot of my surface fishing.

you can get sinking braid though

have fished with it on it's own plenty of times and caught plenty as well. sometimes i sandwhich a real piece in between 2 fakes

dont think it's a syndi mate, unless things have changed. think you can fish it on a day ticket but not till sept, members only till then. there are quite a few posts on here about it i will try to find some

If it could get past the superglued beads of course. i did not read the thread just looked at the picture and posted my reply, reading the thread i think that it is a very silly wind up (or should i say hope it is) that needs deleting. if it is not a wind up then at least tcbuk will now learn and hopefully stop using this rig.

sorry but do not use that rig it is a death trap. you dont need and should not use the swivel on the end of the line all that will do is trap the swivel with hook attatched and the fish will not be able to dump in the case of a break off and the lead and will get caught up on roots, between rocks and many other things which will leave the fish tethered and unable to get away.

hi mate, snake pit can be a very hard water and tbh you wont get much info out of people that fish it, and there is plenty of agro on the water to go with it tbh. head for the snags as already said but i gave up on the water and club very quickly because of the agro and attitude.

hi mate, good quality waters and fish but AWFULL atitude tbh, i have not rejoined this year because of the idiots on the waters and a couple of other members on here have not rejoined as well, the other problem is the amount of litter, sometimes you feel like your fishing in a rubbish dump rather than by a lake. on the plus side 4 of the waters have 40s in with some good 30s as well, 1 of thier waters hold cats (used to be 2 but heard they have moved them from 1) the water that has cats the biggest is mid 60s, if you join good luck cause you will need it mate.
