With Miami and the Keys to the south, and lake okeechobee to the north, south Florida atracts alot of fishermen. Has anyone on this forum fished this area for our grass carp? If so, any and all info would be appriciated.
I am not sure what is supposed to happen where the lead is connected to the main line on a helicopter rig. In the diagram, there shows a neoprene sleave (glued) ahead of the lead and a bead ahead of the sleave. Is the function to release the lead in the event of a snag? If not, what is their function?
Does anyone have any input on whether or not a painted hook(painted in order to match bait color) would have any undesirable effect of on the fish in the event of a break-off?
I use brerkley fireline. The only knot I have found not to slip is the improved trilene. Tie a trilene but do not sinch. Bring the tag end back through the second or "upper" loop. Make sure not to let the upper loop twist around the main before you put the tag end through. Of course, always moisten before sinching.
