  1. Sure a member on here has had a few good fish out there - seen pics of 30's
  2. Sounds familiar - though I bet you get a shed load more requests than most people. I'll happily talk about some venues - others not a chance! you have to keep some stuff for yourself You shouldn't get any grief for not giving out info all the time! We all hold some info back and choose who we speak freely to - they should understand that!
  3. Hi Steve, Its a tough one that - if I were to promote my current lake it could well get busier than I'd like it, but on the other hand if no-one new joins and old members move on the club could go under through lack of interest and that would be much worse. Carping wise this particular club venue is really unknown - theres nothing on the web about it, must be pretty rare! Good luck with the new water mate! Think I've a few blogs to catch up on - I'm hoping to have a catch report to write myself this weekend as my boy has suddenly become mega interested in piking so I'm hell bent on helping him catch something to remember and tell his friends about! Good lad he's finally getting the bug big time off his own back - should have an angling buddy for life!
  4. I think I might be elsewhere from now on as I have other challenges. I have fished the pack very little this year (compared to last year). This year it has been very busy on lake 3 and as you know i like a bit of solitude. However, never say never eh? I think you can tell its got busier through the blogs. Good luck with the new water! This is your overgrown stalking water right? (Cambs) from the photo blogs - I've watched too many blogs
  5. Willesley is not really that shallow mate on average. The upper part of the lake is quite deep.I wouldnt go on there in winter expecting to slay em as it really can be quite tough I wouldn't expect to be slaying em mate - 1 fish in 12 hours in winter would be a decent result in winter IMO. It says it goes from very shallow to 15ft so I bet the average is below 10ft which is fairly shallow to me - some of the pits I fish go over 50ft. Theres Beedles lake off the A46 which is a bit bigger than willesley and averages about 5-6ft - but far less fish in it. But its still worth a go in winter. Gotta say I would expect some action at willesley thats probably why I've never been - the stock says its a runs water though obviously thats not always going to be the case!
  6. Willesley would have to be one of the best winter waters in Leics purely due to its large stock and shallow depth, plus the bait will be going in right through the year. Might have a go myself Tony: There's barely any useful info on Willesley if you do a search, much the same as all the other lakes spoken about.
  7. Will you be stopping on mate? Does look a lovely venue in your blogs
  8. Yeah no worries mate Think I've got 2 mags with features TBH Reckon you have to do pit 2 and not annoy anyone before getting on pit 1 mate? - could be wrong though
  9. I bet you'd be fine mate, from what I've read its got some productive margin spots and the deep open water has high bars on it that you'd probably find spots on or around. Its no oil painting though the ground looks pretty rough and it has big changes in water levels and its got thorny bushes all round - it wins no prizes on looks. Very much like my current water but a different shape. I can see me joining within the next few years I'll find the magazine and PM you the details, if you cant get it I'll try scanning it for ya!
  10. Maybe your right - I looked into joining and thought there was a list for pit 2 then you get the option of pit 1 after doing first season? Got a decent magazine feature on pit 2, plus my mate fished it years back and he catches everywhere.
  11. Elstow or Ringstead - gonna be waiting on a list for a good while though, suppose you will be for anywhere decent
  12. Wellingborough and District Angling Club ticket - about £25 per year with rivers and lakes on it - would be a good introduction to the area. I'm also from Leicester and travel to get away from it!
  13. I think its rig marole that does a wierd floro/something mix that you just pull straight - the guy in the shop did me a demo by rolling it up in a ball, then just pulled it perfectly straight. at the time I though ha you've got carried away that will never straighten but much to my surprise it was perfect Still didn't buy it though - i'm a braid man
  14. Dont need to be sorry mate -no worries, just feel like were talking about different places?
  15. No i dont What you like? I've PM'd Trakker1 (daddy?) with the lakes location need any further direction (map) just ask.
  16. trakker1 - can you please PM contact details for the MAL ticket. Theres a lake I'm interested in on it. Bet Tony doesn't know about that either?
  17. Bluebell runs a good section there. Also a couple of sections listed in the club waters link on here: http://www.fishinginnorthamptonshire.co.uk/clubwaters.html I wouldnt get too hung up on a particular section as the whole river is amazing and full of carp - I can get some details off my mate if you want coz he knows it like the back of his hand, also coops will put you straight! The Wellingborough and District AC card would be a good one to go for
  18. will be inserted somewhere nasty if you dont tell us!
  19. Is this a claw rig nick - the same as I always use? I can only think that you've got a balanced snowman with half pop-up (facing down) and a tube shaped bottom bait threaded onto the hair lengthways. You've done me TBH! I could see what I've come up with as being harder to blowback- but I'm sure your idea is probably nothig like what I'm imagining - look forward to your return
  20. Dont appologise mate - the rolling the eyes thing gets on my nerves too, its patronising and something you wouldnt do in person!
  21. Is it not Irchester Carp Syndicate? Surely the local tackle shops will know - have you rang them? One of the guys on here is local and probably knows!
  22. Personnaly I think its the longshank nailer often used with the 360 thats the problem. My mate uses it for big fish on big fish only waters and has no probs, another mate caught a double on the same hook and was horrified at the damage - he said it was like it had been done with a tin opener, a massive cut in its mouth. I dont think its got anything to do with the 360 set-up, just certain hooks and small fish with soft mouths?
  23. Hi - which lake are you looking to fish? Might be able to help out. Hoping to go myself fairly soon fingers crossed, not been since Sept 07 There is some general info on here if you search. Also some good stuff on their forum, some stuff is getting answered now but older threads have lots of details. Cant see Creature on the list this year, that could be interesting when it does make an appearance - oh please let it be me !!! Yeah righto
  24. My mates had carp to 48 on 8lb line used for his surface hooklink, so its strong enough. Maybe the rigs were old or sun damaged and weakened as a result? Tie your own mate if you dont already
