  1. Gives me enough time to save up the money
  2. Superb fish aren't they mate Might have to give it another go in a couple of years - we should however have a small social on one of the other lakes later in the year like Sept-Oct on Kingy
  3. I had a pic of a cracking stocky caught by manager Dave and theres some reasonable pics of the fish on the Cobb House fish farm site, though they do look much better once they've darkened in a clear lake. Your right Nige there was a good pic on the social thread - if its no longer there I'll get it back on somewhere.
  4. Not sure on stocks anymore as these two sources of info seem to differ - either way - loads of fish per acre, it can only become superb in the future if your looking for runs! Very good looking fish too According to members of the lake when it was syndicate and a few seasoned regulars theres been big originals seen in there. I have no reason to doubt that. If you want a definative answer just ring and ask Tony the owner he is a really nice bloke - one of the very best people I've met through angling! http://www.fisheries.co.uk/bluebell/index.htm http://www.bluebell-lakes.co.uk/the_lakes/mallard/mallard_arc.html
  5. Potentially the best runs water in the country - but needs time to settle in, the stock is huge
  6. Small fish - try the other lakes, or give mallard a few years
  7. Indeed! I bought a spool of it ages ago and tied a rig or two but havn't given it a go yet - probably save it until I feel that I'm getting done over on my trusted rigs. In theory its brilliant stuff, just needs weighting down, maybe colouring a bit.
  8. You fish it in a combi - so its not going to the hook you plankton !!
  9. Sounds familiar, I gave you and Krista a load of Carp and Fishing mags at the Social and have still found more since I seem to remember some articles covering the Elstow complex, very interesting, especially some of the difficulties the anglers face on there regarding depth and the features Yes all your mags mate I'll gladly take more off ya - especially any Carpworld - number 164 would be fab Katwel - theres loads of venues on the forum - I cant really see where your coming from tbh I'm sure we could list lots more venues on threads about areas of the country - but just doing a search will bring most up, I've given plenty of info to people on here through the main site and pm's but I wont say where I'm currently on because I dont want it getting busier - even when I leave the place I wont go posting about it to help keep it unspoilt for the existing members. I have to say that unless your very lucky or know someone you dont seem to get to find out about some waters at all! When you get lucky it would be crazy to go spouting off about it in public. Not just for my or another anglers sake but to protect the water from poachers etc. No offence thats just how it is
  10. Oh does he eventually catch his target fish??? you'll just have to wait and see
  11. Thanks nick - I emailed it instead PMSL have found part 3 - will be mailing it out early next week Got magazines everywhere
  12. Bluebell will be the last to switch off in winter and first to switch back on in spring as its the shallowest by far. Nice lake - enjoy!
  13. Kingy isnt easy at the best of times, swan is said to be a bit easier. IMO the complex isnt much of a winter water TBH - but its probably best to ring them and ask for advice.
  14. Have a look on here - plenty to go at http://www.fishinginnorthamptonshire.co.uk/
  15. Mate I've found the 2nd part - gonna get them scanned at work, prob into pdf format. Dont know how I could post on here or whether your allowed to - could email it to you?
  16. Looking at it again its Part 1 of 2 parts so would have been great to get 162 as well.
  17. Elstow: Carpworld Issue 161 Feb 2004. Will try to get scanned to pdf
  18. Sure a member on here has had a few good fish out there - seen pics of 30's
  19. Sounds familiar - though I bet you get a shed load more requests than most people. I'll happily talk about some venues - others not a chance! you have to keep some stuff for yourself You shouldn't get any grief for not giving out info all the time! We all hold some info back and choose who we speak freely to - they should understand that!
  20. Hi Steve, Its a tough one that - if I were to promote my current lake it could well get busier than I'd like it, but on the other hand if no-one new joins and old members move on the club could go under through lack of interest and that would be much worse. Carping wise this particular club venue is really unknown - theres nothing on the web about it, must be pretty rare! Good luck with the new water mate! Think I've a few blogs to catch up on - I'm hoping to have a catch report to write myself this weekend as my boy has suddenly become mega interested in piking so I'm hell bent on helping him catch something to remember and tell his friends about! Good lad he's finally getting the bug big time off his own back - should have an angling buddy for life!
  21. I think I might be elsewhere from now on as I have other challenges. I have fished the pack very little this year (compared to last year). This year it has been very busy on lake 3 and as you know i like a bit of solitude. However, never say never eh? I think you can tell its got busier through the blogs. Good luck with the new water! This is your overgrown stalking water right? (Cambs) from the photo blogs - I've watched too many blogs
  22. Willesley is not really that shallow mate on average. The upper part of the lake is quite deep.I wouldnt go on there in winter expecting to slay em as it really can be quite tough I wouldn't expect to be slaying em mate - 1 fish in 12 hours in winter would be a decent result in winter IMO. It says it goes from very shallow to 15ft so I bet the average is below 10ft which is fairly shallow to me - some of the pits I fish go over 50ft. Theres Beedles lake off the A46 which is a bit bigger than willesley and averages about 5-6ft - but far less fish in it. But its still worth a go in winter. Gotta say I would expect some action at willesley thats probably why I've never been - the stock says its a runs water though obviously thats not always going to be the case!
  23. Willesley would have to be one of the best winter waters in Leics purely due to its large stock and shallow depth, plus the bait will be going in right through the year. Might have a go myself Tony: There's barely any useful info on Willesley if you do a search, much the same as all the other lakes spoken about.
  24. Will you be stopping on mate? Does look a lovely venue in your blogs
  25. Yeah no worries mate Think I've got 2 mags with features TBH Reckon you have to do pit 2 and not annoy anyone before getting on pit 1 mate? - could be wrong though
