  1. i fish sapphire a fair amount, its a lovely lake but quite a hard water and the trains take a bit of getting used to graham is a top geezer and its fair price, might be worth starting on the stock pond, a bit more of a runs water and fish up to about 13lb and dont put a lot of bait in if on the main specimen lake
  2. simple mate, moorgreen res, google it they have a syndi and it looks a lovely place with good fish
  3. personnel attacks on members are not tolerated, explain your self or expect a life ban from this forum

  9. Hi all, im looking for a nice lake to fish for a week in july but i must be able to take my geriatric greyhound with me! thinking some where in the norfolk area might be nice, and a lake thats got some 30`s in it (or 40`s) any suggestions would be welcome
  10. cromwell, overpriced but got some top fish in it and very pretty lake (£12.50 to have non fishing girlfriend in the bivvy ) some say lots of canadian weed but not fished it so interesting to get your view on it, let us know how you get on and opinion
  11. in deep silt i would use a much longer hooklink say 10-12 inch and after casting out pull the lead free from the silt to make sure the bait has not been pulled into silt
  12. IF there is a correct use then maybe, but in all honesty there is no correct use, only dangerous. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=40970&highlight=leadcore http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=39794&highlight=leadcore http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=44156&highlight=leadcore http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=40711&highlight=leadcore i wont lock this because it will look like i am being petty trying to win an agument the fact is leadcore is dangerous whichever way it is used and therefore not worth using i thought about locking this and decided not to for the same reason, the way i see it , the only reason for using leadcore is the chod rig, and thats just because a few names use it, so whats wrong with the hinged stiff link for pop ups, no leadcore and very similar presentation.
  13. dont go near it! http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=40970&highlight=leadcore
  14. what part of the country do you plan to go to
  15. we have had a problem with malware on the banner adds, they had to be removed but should be back up shortly
  16. you can try hilsea moat for day fishing for carp tench and other stuff, if you want night fishing then soakes pond in denmead is a lovely little venue, i fished it as a kid many many years ago
  17. ok mate, have a look at carp quarry, its a lovely looking venue, only a short drive from ferry with a good amount of things in the area, the owner is a helpful fella with proper accomadation and best of all he has an advert on these very pages, just click the fishing holidays link to see his banner
  18. Petersfield Heath Lake (20 acres) is closed until the 31st March. It is looked after by Petersfield and District Angling Club----one of four Clubs forming the Hants & Sussex Alliance. its a very pretty lake with boating activity's and is very shallow, i have never fished it but some of my friends did a good few years back, its one of those waters that you need to be able to cast a long distance and wading out 30 yards will help when the fish are at range, quite a few bream in there and some good carp, it had a forty but dead now you can do day ticket but night fishing you have to be a member of the club
  19. st johns is one of the most pressured day tickets around, i have fished it and vowed never to go back, dont get me wrong its well run but just to many lines in the water all the time so the fish hold up right in the middle most of the time some of the other linear waters are a much better bet http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=44759&highlight=johns
  20. its a lasso knot, form a loop, then make a smaller loop inside the big one and wind a tag end around both loops 4 turns
  21. well said sir, a while back we had a situation where a member posted a comment about a product that he knew nothing about
  22. have heard a good few comments on here about korda hooks and not all good, so i wont use the product as its a vital link between you and a prize fish! regards tying the knotless knot, there is a correct way to wind the turns around the shank of a hook, but really sounds like the hooks you had were duff if you want tough but expensive hooks try esp raptors
  23. just maybe the main problem with leadcore could be that to many inexperienced anglers used the stuff, doing stunts like gluing lead clip rubbers in place and fixing beads tight to the leadcore, and as a result they have given the product a very bad name, i have had it kink and also the lead has snapped, poking out through the outer core, much as i like the presentation it can give i wont risk using it now
  24. http://www.jfonline.co.uk/knots_page.html http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=32236 here is a couple of links to some knots fella
