Recommendations please, under £50, portable and easy on the battery life. Need it for the sport coverage.
  2. Luckily no issues with mine and my mistake it cost £35.
  3. I use a JRC Skyliner carbon stick very light comes in a neoprene sleeve. Cost me £30 it’s a joy to use had it a year. About 36 inches long with a slight curve
  4. I fish a lot of day ticket waters ( well use do 🙄 ) and I see lots of young lads struggling with large nets. The problem it’s not the arms it’s the long drop of the net.
  5. You need to pull your rods in for the night Elmo your going to be wrecked tomorrow. 😳
  6. What about that silver v on mine it moves do yours ?
  7. Hope you get a bend or two on your rod 🎣
  8. It’s a crochet needle went in past the hookend I couldn’t work out which way to pull it out ... got myself in a cold sweat I can tell you. Iv had it for years was my 1st bait needle
  9. Hours to go before I got picked up to go to France I impaled my finger l
  10. Highly have you seen these, there my nx purchase just got to wait for my local tackle shop to open up again.
  11. Maybe file or sand down the gap where the bobbins grip the line ?
  12. As above Fox do a tapered line 300m of 12lb -35lb cost around £10 If using braid .... I wet the spool before giving it the big one ( if there’s a need for it ) by underhandedly it out then reel in with the tip under the water then again cast a bit further out and so on. I think the practice of just wetting the spool with your hand just gets a small amount of the braid wet.
  13. I am a big fan of the KD rig but I fish it with a snowman setup so the hook is flat on the bottom, A long hair and with half of a inch striped back of the coated braid with a B.B. pinched on the break. The rig looks... well weird but works for me.
  14. Dial-a-bites that made me smile. Lovely fish and pics again...but to see a fish that you know could be a 50 it’s defo a heart stopper. 👍
  15. Edmund Cooper Transit The 1st SF book I read. Easy to read not to long winded. ( not like this post ) When my brother moved out of the family home he left it behind I inherited his bedroom and the book.... and his bull worker lol ...always wanted to read it again so over the many years i kept a eye out for it in charity shops, bookshops and car boots never any luck, anyway I’m in the airport waiting for a flight 30 years odd later and there sitting opposite is a young lady reading the book so I tells her the story of me looking for the book we have a laugh have a couple of drinks. I go to the bar come back with the drinks and there on the table is the book but no sign of her, I open the book and there on the inside cover she wrote “I enjoyed the chat so enjoy the book Linda x” I read and enjoyed all the book on the holiday.... but went and left it behind at the Hotel 🙄
  16. Got to agree with The Wilt series, The early Spike Milligan books had me laughing
  17. The dark Mirror defo looks mean..... great pics 👍
  18. Im glad you got it ..... I was thinking come on ... come on. Must have been a great relief seeing the tail. And all this in the winter 👍
  19. Daiwa Sensor jumbo spool 8lb 1,855m just under £10 use that for float and feeder and carp off the top, iv had carp up to 16lb on it been using the brand for donkeys yeas X line fluoro not sure what breaking strain it’s been on the spools forever use this for small waters where a softly softly approach is needed.....I find i need to wipe the xline during the session as it seems to get dirty I just use a baby wipe must the segment in the water ? Fox Exocet wow what a line highly recommended 👍 first used it in France in 12lb on a big water as I didn’t have a bait boat, 12lb is a bit Stretchy if you give it the big heave ho with a 3oz weight and no shock leader tho ... so I changed spools to the 15lb glad I did the 1st fish took me around a small weed bed, had no problems with a low 30 and a big ball of weed. The line flys off the spool thin for its bs and sinks ok Braid Berkley Whiplash green diameter 0.12 use it for my spod /marker rod ( which is the same rod ) again had this for so long it’s lost it colour.
  20. When I make up my helicopter leadcore leaders i make a long splice 2 inch’s long at the weight end I find the extra thickness helps grip the bead but not to tight. The other end has obviously a small loop as has the weight end. I ALWAYS make sure the bead can travel over the top loop of the leadcore easily. I can’t remember the last time i used anything under the bead to help grip it to the leader.....There’s a lake I fish often has gravel bars and some zebra muscle beds so leadcore is a must for me.
  21. My mate got hold of a roll and done his pod looked really good ... but he could only find it if had a run
