March catch reports
Pete Springate's Guns and 4 others reacted to elmoputney for a topic
And finally I get to join in a catch report. I've been trying to come to terms with zig fishing for the last few sessions, probably a bit late to the party but finally it's paid off, saw a showing fish at range and pinged one at it last ditch attempt, but as the lead hit the water a few seemed to be disturbed, so I chucked another one at them too, finally after a night of fishing like a bit of a noddy, I was in, i had tried fishing on the deck, spodding over zigs, and all I needed to do was put one in the right place, it was too close to hometime to really do much about it but finally I can catch em on zigs. strange fight on the zig as the lead didn't discharge, I was petrified lol but luckily my mates son came along at the right time to help me net it and photo it. But I've done it I've caught one on a zig,and a nice one too buzzing5 points -
I wouldn't be worried about contacting them about the issue. I'm sure they'll be more keen to know about potential problems ASAP than getting upset. How a company deals with issues tells you what they are like and whether you should support them in the future. Give them a chance to put it right.2 points

Hi I'm 54 and got 2 sons and 5 grandkids . 1 son loves fishing and so does 3 grandkids. Got my 1st rod at 13 and fished local lake, learned by getting books out of the library and got help from a brilliant bailiff on the lake which cost 10p a day lol. Caught my first carp a few years later and that was it wanted bigger. Had to take about 10 yrs out when the kids came along and work took over. But got back into it about 5 years ago when the kids all left home. And loving it, Looking forward to learning and maybe ask a few questions thanks for reading1 point

Fair enough thanks for sharing. Have you looked at proper job pop ups, if I could only use one it would be these tbh. KLS in washed out pink a personal favourite, but tbh on their day they all work. I have tried and own lots of pop ups(I have a bit of a problemπ) and now the only ones I take are proper jobs and innovate bait.1 point -

It was tight to begin with so pulled 3 or 4 beeps and the tip was bouncing, so I knew it was on, was weird how little I felt because of the lead though, I didn't see it before it beeped as I was trying to pack up lol but a pleasant disturbance none the less π1 point -

Well done Elmo and well deserved using a new method π β¦. What was the bite like ? Iv had them moving the tip almost like quiver fishing before the alarm gos off, any movement and I pick up the rod and reel in.1 point -
Sticky popups have done me well over the years mate and they are only like Β£6 a tub lol. I'm not a buoyancy guru but they stay popped up screwed onto spinner rig for 24 hrs ππ€£1 point

Im just gonna buy new, not having any luck catching as it is so no point risking losing a fish should i actually hook one, and would not be good for the fish to swim about with half a rig in its gob1 point

9 tench in total, safe to say they love my bait π€£ Spoke to a few anglers over the last couple days and learnt a bit more about the lakes, they are saying pva bags/small amount of bait and being mobile is the best approach, spodding out quite a bit is asking for trouble as I found out π€£ Gonna pick up a few bits from the tackle shop later and get on the solid bags I think. Gonna start using the brolly without a groundsheet again and just keep most of the stuff on the barrow so its easier to move lol. The hide xl is a wicked bivvy with a groundsheet but once it's all setup I can be a bit reluctant to move as it feels like ive set up campπ€£1 point
