  1. IMHO the only way to take trophy shots is using an intervalometer. Yes you get loads of unusable shots which you simply delete. You then get to choose the best from the rest. If you are are only using a phone try this app camera FV-5 Don't forget to keep the bloopers as well.

  2. It's £80 to Hire the roof box but it means I can take bait and my rods and probably chairs and a brolly so it makes sense really rather than needing to hire it all when i get there, so that is money we'll spent really I think

  3. I agree. A trophy shot is a trophy shot but the bloopers really bring back the memories of a capture. Here's me getting a blistering take half way through a photo shoot 🤣🤣🤣

  5. You’ll be surprised how much little gear you need to take. In the pic iv got a fox pop up mat, weigh sling, net with a 2 piece handle, umbrella, 3 ESP QuickDraw rods 10ft 3.5lb breaks down to just over 4ft, one of them doubles up as a spod rod, and reels, alarms , sticks, food and flask …. Apologies to any gear I haven’t mentioned…you just got to find room for the bike 🤔 Almost forgot to mention the chair

  6. This is great news mate. Six acres is big enough for you to feel under-gunned with short rods and fish showing long imo.

  8. Thanks but I've just messed up the need for new rods 😩 I've hired a roof box that will fit 12ft rods in 😭 good in some ways as I don't need to buy anymore rods but bad in that I don't need to buy anymore 😂

  9. I'd go for 3.5lb will still play fish well but have that bit of extra backbone if required.

  10. https://www.srb-photographic.co.uk/srb-dslr-self-take-kit-8891-p.asp I use this set up with my camera. You can adjust the position of the firing pin and I've used it with my bridge camera (SLR size) and my compact. You've just got to press the air bulb with your knee which is pretty simple.

  12. I'm no expert with phone shots (I use a proper camera) but try Googling "Whistle Camera". There's several apps which allow you to take the shot by whistling hence no need for the remote. There's even one that will take the shot when it detects a smile I believe.

  13. Oddly I find it's more tricky when you get back. You really concentrate when you're over there but when I get back I relax a bit and start getting confused about being back on the right side lol.

  15. Yeah I don't plan on fishing all day everyday might just do morning and evenings I think no point burning the candle at both ends it's got to be fun for everyone, I think after the last few years we all just need a break tbh can't wait, It's only 6 acres I'm toying with the idea of using solid bags a bit, I could make up a bucket load in advance with shelf life hookbaits, that might work a treat I think then just throwing stick some baits around it, nice and simple stuff

  17. Well you certainly made the most of it buddy! I love a nice long catch report and really enjoyed reading this. It sounds like the sesh had its ups and downs but ultimately you made your time on the bank count. Well done.
