    First time EVER

Well he forced me ( at gunpoint of course 😊) to take him again today . Different venue and they weren’t quite as keen to jump on his maggots so he became quite restless early on . I don’t think it’s going to be as easy as I thought it was and the secret seems to be to catch early on but credit to him , he was fishing in what seemed like 15 minute bursts and he got his reward in the end .

  2. Mainline are a decent range but I'm not sure if they are ester based or Nature Identical (chemical based to achieve a natural smell). If they are ester, sugar or essential oil based you can go higher than the recommended, whereas most NI's I would religiously stick to the recommended with a few exceptions. Chocolate, some fruits and Squid and Octopus can be used at 5ml per egg. (RH Chocolate Malt could be used at 5ml per egg for 6 eggs in a bait!) If in doubt, go 1ml maximum.

  6. 100% agree on location being the most important factor, combined with a little bit of luck and your onto a winner.

  7. I'd say your chosen level is a good starting point. I know the profile plus range of flavours are very potent and can be overloaded but not sure on the response range.

If those monster drinks were sold as a solid block of the same ingredients sold as a pill or a smoking product they would be banned. little fella looks keen after the large carp, he will be coming on every session be after a carp dog next.

    Dogs and fishing

One last thing to work on and it's a big one, i may have to admit defeat, and get the dog training lady in she does classes and he needs better dog socialization skills, i can take him to a hound pack farm where they do classes, he is ok with other dogs so long as they don't react to him. a few classes with the right group of dogs will help he is fine with small dogs he does like to let the larger dogs know he has an eye on them. his posture can be on another level especially as we have been doing three to four long walks a day all his fat has burnt off looks ripped.

  10. I'm not paying Β£15 a kilo for it, so it's probably not an out and out milk protien but it has lots of other goodies in and they do seem to love it, had some really quick bites using it so that will do me, I think I've got to the point now where it is about location being the most important factor and in the right place the baits will work well enough but some prebaiting won't do any harm πŸ‘ Postman pat came this morning, have to say they both smell like winners, proper jobs always seem to come with confidence boosters in them, tangee peach smell lovely,, KLS just smell like carp catchers not dissimilar to both the baits I am using this year and both slightly odd colours, I don't regret adding these to the collection πŸ˜‚

    Dogs and fishing

Fredrick update. Coming along nice and steady very friendly and soft with us and most other people not keen on blokes who look like they are just out without any reason not a bad thing he just chuffs at them, will let complete strangers handle him the lady in the pet shop fitted him a harness he was more than happy. other dogs, not as interested as he was a week ago, although he did try to batter a dalmation up the woods the other night, nothing major, the dog was off lead and went to approach mine but the other guy made a meal out of getting his dog on lead and stopping in a narrow gap of the path, bit of a clash when passing, the problem is my dog will go into cry and it can be a bit intimidating for other dogs. he is much better than he was and takes verbal commands to stop and stuff no treats needed just good boys. works every time. little swimming lesson just incase.
