Your not wrong mate mine goes at the most trivial things, one of the worst times I was actually just brushing my teeth, I wasn't even bent over, I was stood up straight and my back went and I couldn't even move.

I agree exactly. The ability to assess, learn and correct without going round in circles or up your own bottom is good angling. Chopping and changing every trip and then catching but not knowing why is luck. I honestly think that too many angler's are given a false perception of what they can achieve; overstocked waters, or even waters jam packed full of big fish at credit card prices. Like @elmoputney I think I earnt my largest fish, I learnt the water, learnt the fish, and caught plenty on the way. My previous largest was lucky. Turn up on a lake, come up with a unique rig and set-up, find a feature, put some bait to it, and first fish, catch a PB. The next 'PB' was fishing through the year, catching most sessions, and realising where the fish were hiding in December. I don't think that just turning up on a Holme Fen, to catch a new largest fish is the way forward. I want to have earnt my next PB. By the way I don't necessarily think my largest fish is a PB, I still class that as a 28lb carp from the river

Well guess what I'm also of work for 10 days and I've not got a car, it's in the repair shop as like a div I backed into a brick wall two weeks ago. The insurance have given me a curtesy car about as big as a match box so I can't really do any fishing as it's not big enough to carry anything. 😭 Look after yourself elmo and get better soon mate, I do sympathise with you mate my back goes regularly and there's nothing worse mate. 👍

I'm also a week off work, Wife's Job list to do.... Monday, after O2 Cinema priority with little en, to plain the doors. Tuesday, to tidy attic. Wednesday, do tip runs (about 4) Thursday, can I clean house top to bottom. Friday, - maybe a FREE day Saturday - visiting sister & her new pooch in her new house. Sunday - little en has a football friendly. (back to work on 9th)

You should try getting scammed by UPS, that is mission impossible to complain, what I do now is go on their Facebook page periodically and slag them right off, it hasn't solved a thing but makes me feel like I am making a difference 😂

If you tend to "get into the larger ones" then in my opinion that is good angling. Is it luck you fish the right spots, use the right rigs etc etc, not for me. That's all down to good angling. Don't get me wrong, i used to think the same but I'd find the fish, find the spot, apply bait correctly and present my bait in an acceptable way, no luck involved there, just good angling. Is that big headed, no it's a fact. I'd rather be a good angler than a lucky one.

Lovely fish that one 😎 Well worth getting a tripod I got an amazon basics one for my camera wasn't expensive but well worth it 👍 I try to make it as simple as I can for photos, intervalometer, video light, tripod , get the mat set up with the camera ready with a practice snap, then just move the fish hit the timer unzip the retainer, bucket of water ready lift, take snaps, turn, do more snaps and back in the water, worth checking you have a good enough snap before releasing 👍 If they get a bit flappy I've found it can help to keep the eyes covered as much as possible, I think it's the bright lights that bother them, just takes a bit of practice to get used too then it becomes 2nd nature, Great session though bagged some whackers 👍👍😎😎

That was a net guess was a bit bigger, no only a mat shot and video, didn't fancy doing a hold photo get a bit twitchy whith the larger fish it's not nice when they kick off on the mat, if I had a tripod I would.

Since when is it acceptable for a delivery driver to be hashing up turning around and having to listen to the reverse beeping for over 5 minutes, at 7.40 on a Sunday morning?? When I had had enough and went to see why, I was told foff!! I then felt the need to find out who he worked for and got offered out!! Even a guy I know in the next street down came and asked what was going on Now I not religious but these deliveries are hardly essential at that time on the weekend. Team know how! Know how to make it impossible to send a complaint. I'm registered to some American website and have warned loyalty points just to send them my complaint 🙄🤯
