  2. Done a little prepping today cooked up some pigeon mix and soaked it in Molasses, crumbed up a couple of kilos of nearly frozen boilies with the ridgemonkey crusher (blooming good product I think) , mixed with a few pellets and given a good dose of liquid liver mmmmmmm, My plan for tomorrow, prep a swim or two for Sunday and maybe fish for a few hours to get rid of all the rust I've built up over the winter πŸ˜‚

    Back to pastures old

When I was out at weekend, very nice n sunny but it looked like the fish were just trying to warm up, not taking anything off top at all, no bread, no pop ups, no biscuits... Did sort of find there patrolling route of the lake, so this weekend I'm out Sunday for a 24hr.

  16. The equinox is just a single moment of the year so can have no effect at all. The seasons which follow from that event have a huge effect on fishing so could conceivably have some bearing on what type of carp you catch. IMHO whether the moon has an effect or not simply depends on how cloudy it is. Or, to put it another way, how much light is being cast on the lake during the night.

  17. In theory, commons might be 'warmer' than mirrors with their complete scaling and moving about more. @levigsp might be the person to ask about that! I know on my lake, only 1 common has been caught since the start of March, every other fish on the bank has been a mirror. If you get into the equinox, certain fish seem to come out at specific times of the year or moon phases.

I hope she's gets better soon mate, I know what you're going through, we almost lost our fella last summer but he fought back and survived, They are part of the family and its a massive loss when they go, just like any other member of your family. Fingers crossed for you and your family mate.🀞

  19. Your choices are decent ones mate. I've used all 3 of them. The pink almond is the best imo. The tuna one is decent too if you're after a fishy one. Pretty much mate. I do use Goo now and again. Reason being an experience I had several years ago now. I was fishing a water in the Valley and doing OK but I was getting out-fished by a close mate of mine. I was wracking my brains as to why and I ended up asking him straight out what he was doing. His answer was Goo (I'd never used it at this point and tbh thought it was a load of rubbish). He was Goo-ing his pop ups in the pink almond. I ended up Goo-ing a pot up and carrying on as I had been but with the pink almond pop ups. Long story short I had it right off, catching all but one of the fish I was after in a matter of weeks including my main target kipper, a very special one (see below). Now it could have been coincidence that it all came together after I started with the Goo, but with each capture came confidence and with more confidence came more captures. I don't use the stuff all the time (I believe it's more effective on certain waters than others) but I can say that using it appeared to make a difference on some of the waters I've fished. If that's what Goo does then I like it lolπŸ‘†

  20. For me personally, I wouldn't touch korda goo or any similar product. For me having total confidence in the bait you use should be enough. Start adding goos and glugs then you might start questioning whether it's the bait , the glug or whatever is catching the fish. Use a matching enhancer that match your hookbaits for sure but a goo not for me. I suppose it's all about what you're confident in. If it gives you confidence then fair enough but for me your confidence should be in your bait and not an overpowering goo.
