  5. I think it's all about the confidence tbh, I didn't do very well when I messed about making my own, I think it's better use something proven as you are always tweaking and testing, with regards to glugging I've become very sold on taking baits straight out the freezer pouring a cup or two of boiling water and a hydro liquid, give it a good mix and just let that wash them out for 24 hours before using, the result a washed out soft bait the carp will eat with gusto, and with loads of attraction washed in,

I did it because I already had the cygnet bits, tbh if I was buying it all from scratch I would buy matrix or another brand as they are better mixing cygnet use a male thread hockey stick, where virtually everyone else use a female hockey stick thread, hope that makes sense πŸ’πŸ˜Š

I've looked at the MPS heads before as they reminded me of the Nash slapheads . At the moment I use Gardner Nano Bugs , as I like the light weight of the bobbins and the cords . I expect you have given a lot of thought as to why you should match the MPS heads with Cygnet arms , or did you just ask HIghy , the " indicator King " ? . 😁 πŸ˜ƒ

  8. There is paprika in it but it is pulped fruit pepper and spices the raw form is very nice, it is for Avery show birds parrots and that. The robin orange is a sweeter fruity spice, had some great results on the robin gold highly rate it, the guy I get my bait off makes a very high quality bait with both the red and gold will do a custom bait if it is worth his work and it is not something mental that he knows won't work he is set with his own three recipes and will roll other companies baits so long as it is not just the odd kilo bag of mainline here and there. He is quite confident that one or all of his baits will catch anywhere at any time of year as they are, just don't ask about glugging them, lol.

  9. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I think we’ve all made a mistake before mateπŸ˜‚ In response to your question, there is a few white goos I can use (after your last message it feels so bad to say itπŸ˜‚) but none of them are fish flavoured, they all are sweet, which would defeat the purpose of the krill wafter.

  15. The size and coarseness of the ingredients that go into a boilie is quite a complex part of the overall picture. If it was as fine as flour, it would bind well but water wouldn't penetrate it easily and the flavours would be locked in. Think of a Victoria sponge (but obviously smaller) and the flavours and goodness are easier to leach out. Bait manufacturers will source the ingredients and the size that that think will provide optimum results.

    Haith's base mixes

I think you'll find that nectar blend is an ingredient and not a base mix on it's own. Add other powders to it to formulate a base mix.

    Scooooooooooop?????

S'called Carp Tax mate... I won't buy anymore fishing clothing.... it's well overpriced compared to places like Go-Outdoors or Decathlon, plenty of hi tech clothing for half the price of Carp gear ( just not green) Stoves.... Β£59 for a Trakker that's a rebranded Bulin (or some such) I got a cheap stove from Go that takes the aerosol cannisters... Β£7.99 years ago... its still going I looked at the Trakker Armo cookset in Angling Direct Β£42 (no I haven't got anything against them despite the examples) and bought one for a 3rd of the price in Go.... all the firms are the same.... have a look at the gear you want then have a look at the cheap and cheerful stuff from China... its the same gear with a different name.... I wanted a new kettle.... Go... Β£3.... Nash... Β£20.99 People moan about the demise of local tackle shops but when tackle manufacturers post prices like this it's not hard to see your average angler saying "B****r that" and going somewhere cheaper.... I'll buy second hand or cheap stuff and look after it and save a fortune in the process...

We are defo getting towards that time of year imo mate. The cold waters will soon be sinking (its denser than warmer water) making it uncomfortable for mr carp to feed on the deck for prolonged periods. I'd personally rather have 23 hours with a bit of foam in front of their nose than one hour with them feeding on bait.

Nope. Stick with what you're using mate. If it's working then you're setting yourself back by changing. You know you have a bait they'll eat so you know that all you have to do is put it in the right place. You're already half way there.

I used to love the banter of a night shift, but it's not much fun when you know you have to be ready for the school run, certainly got tougher after kids, not sure I would want to go back now, I quite like the almost regular sleep

Ive learnt a lot on here from various people along the way, these guys have all really helped me also ginger1991 also really changed my tbinking with regard to using pva now other than at night I am generally rechucking them every couple of hours and a lot of my bites have been within minutes of doing this, generally this works well for me as I know if my rig is tangled its only a couple of hours of down time not a whole session, also leaning to make sure everything is spot on for bite time, I will bait up at night if I need to and recast at first light to make sure I have fresh traps out there, I work harder these days and try and make things happen, rather than sitting and hoping it will happen, All I will say is ask questions on here it's been brilliant for me I've learnt lots and I can't thank everyone enough for that πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
