  1. Thanks Elmo and Yonny I think I'll start of with the Rigmarole until I've used it all up as I understand it's no longer being made ; then I'll go onto the Hydro. 😃

  2. I moved I hadn't seen a lot, I did spot a couple hiding in the back bay earlier so I've moved into a nearby potential ambush spot, and I've actually managed to get a drop quite happy now, Time to get sorted have dinner and a flipping beer 🍻😁

  3. I'm setting myself up with a lightweight roving, and mixed species day kit. Given that my plans to fish Bluebell properly this year have been ruined by a massive influx of campers I've had a rethink and buzzing for it, first off was a local canal Perch next up a river Soar Barbel.

If the fish are there then stay put, if not I'd up sticks, find them and move onto them.

  5. Difference is you fished it for half a week not a single day session lol

  6. I did put in a bit of bait at the start last week, a total of a gallon of hemp, around 2kg of boilies and then cast out stringer every day on the spot for 4 days. That works... I only had three carp, two 17's and a 21, but that is on a fairly lightly fished reservoir. I think NS fisheries Nunnery get the angler to do a session on the 'easy' lake to assess them, then if pass they can fish the syndicate lakes when approved.

    Bluebell? From purchases

Yes mate, dodgy ground indeed fingers crossed they are lucky. Yes management have made a few mistakes trying to please a massive wave of new customers, but overall you have to blame the anglers for fitting in anywhere and putting in too much bait. Isn't spring supposed to be about singles and zigs, not piles of bait when it's 30 degrees and they are in pre spawn limbo. How do you police it, no noddies? It does say experienced anglers only but that's self assessed!

  10. Both are excellent. The hydro in 15 can cope with a hell of a lot and the specimon in 18 is nigh on invincible.

Finally sorting my gear out to load the car, just started raining, gonna have to wait a bit longer 😁 Its going to be all about the timing today I think, I'm in no rush as long as the stall is set out by early evening and the dust has settled for bite time ill be happy,

Know how you feel. I was going to hit the beach but the wind is putting a stop to that. One of my lakes all the weed has died off and there are massive weed beds wiping everyone out and my other lake the fish are spawning. Something is telling me not to go 🤣

As long as you have the essentials elmo, just focus on enjoying yourself mate. If you forget something then you can get over it somehow. Being on the bank is quality time. I wish I could have more time there, but work and family take priority at the moment SO, QT shoutld be cherished, you deserve it buddy! Tight lines

  14. I haven't used the rigmarole but can't praise 15lb hydrotuff enough tbh, it's never let me down, I've hooked into some pretty robust pads and snags and given it full load and always got my rig back, fish wise I've not worried about it yet, once wet its a lovely line to use sinks nicely, perfect for me

Getting worse still. They've just shut Mallard (unheard of in my lifetime) due to high nitrate levels. I think they're worried with the thunderstorms this weekend that they could be looking at an oxygen crash.
