  1. You're over-thinking it imo buddy. Just fire them where your spot is๐Ÿ‘ I've worked on this principle for nearly 25 years and it's worked pretty well.

  2. I would think Elmo canโ€™t sleep at night the amount of over thinking he does lol, fish are funny creatures they are rarely where we think they should be and when we find them itโ€™s usually why are they there my theory is 1 find them first 2 give them something they may like to eat 3 use a sharp enough hook 4 everything else really doesnโ€™t matter to much whether that be rigs what your gear looks like on the bank or if you only go once a year or every day

  3. I chose peg 6 actually, I thought it would give me the choice of shallow margins with tree cover and other features but also covers the deepest areas of the lake. It was flat calm almost all day, no fish showing at all throughout the entire day and when there was an occasional slight breeze it was freezing and in a different direction everytime! Needless to say I blanked, just two liners but I don't think I fished particularly well either, reeled in twice with my braided hooklink in a tangle and the stiff link fished in the margins came in with weed on it twice and a seed on the hookpoint once too! I also struggled with the bivvy pegs on the gravel of the peg and set up over an area that wasn't level, took me about 30mins just to peg in the bivvy. Not a great day all in all but the fishery is brilliant so will definitely go back soon.

  4. Undertow would have an influence as well but if we worry about this kind of thing we wouldnโ€™t catch anything at all

  5. Should be a bit better now for you either way I would think, the new road is pretty decent as long as there are no closures but they are hoping to have it finished this year so hopefully it will be OK

    A14 to St Ives

Epic mate what a place/challenge. I'll be doing a bit on Bluebell this year but I'm gonna have a few looks round the mighty St Ives throughout the year with a mind on joining next winter. What's not to like! ๐Ÿ‘

  8. That's a bit of a chicken /egg scenario I can't decide if it's lack of sleep that causes the overthinking, or the overthinking that causes the lack of sleep, going to have to Mull that one over for a while ๐Ÿ˜

  9. Now you know so it's OK, doesn't hurt to ask if you aren't sure, I am also a terrible over thinker, I was really bad for most of last year tbh ๐Ÿ˜ This year I have a plan and I will make it work ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

  11. if you think that a bullet slows almost to a stop over a few feet on impact with water (films were you see people being shot while under water are BS so dont say you saw it on saving private ryanso it must be true) a boilie will drop straight down from the point it entered the water (undertow besides)

  12. I'm actually on the A14 in the morning for a trip down to a water in Cambridge. I'll let you know the state of it. Totally agree. That stupid little roundabout we had before was just ridiculous!

    A14 to St Ives

I tow our caravan to Wyton Lakes Camping/Caravan site, just up the road from St Ives, at least twice a year from the outskirts of Birmingham so I've seen several changes to the A14. The best by far is the new arrangement where A14 goes from M6. That dreadful Catthorpe interchange with the traffic lights is gone! The difference/improvement is astonishing and is how it should have been all along. Otherwise it's same old A14, pretty much...โ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ. Ian. PS. If you're into camping, trailer tents or caravanning you might want to Google Wyton Lakes. Very friendly, laid back and the fishing is good...โ€ฆโ€ฆ...

    Dogs and fishing

I first took mine when it was 12 weeks old and after a few hours it got bored and just savaged me, constant puppy biting. Telling it no and saying ouch just excited it even more lol I think I packed up after 5 hours. Good luck mate ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
