  2. Today's Thought? I'd really hoped that growing old would take much longer than this. 😗 Ian.

    New purchases

  4. Ordered a Shakespeare Aspect 11ft 1.5lb tc rod from err.....go outdoors not overly impressed as it arrived with 2 bent rod rings and some compression gouges on the eva grips despite being posted in a strong carboard tube, but i will use it as its only for small lake with carp to mid doubles and rod only cost £25, it will tide me over till i find something nice like a mint Sundridge vitesse 11ft
  5. Yeah dropped about a foot and a half to what it looks like is the natural level, it's mega, got 3-4 foot in the edge in most places still. Pressure drop and rain, hopefully I'll guess the right section if none spotted, but wind is swinging mid session. In it to win it 😎👍
  6. Hi Kev. From what I can see in the 'photo the lake water level may have dropped a bit , but not too bad ? . Have a Duck free night . 😀
  7. View from last weekend, got excited with my bait mix smashed it all in then had duck wars over it all night lol On the plus side I found what feels like a banging area so might well be back on that tonight, less bait lol 🤞

  9. Nowadays I’m a bit partial to Emma Willis.. and a secret thing with Zoe Wanamaker
  10. Denise van Outen on Big Breastfast
  11. Linda lusardi or Maria Whittaker was my preferred totty.
  12. Certainly does and much better than the new craze of massive bums - just enormous, lip fillers etc etc look like freaks tbh bring back the old days!
  13. Been doing short 4hr after work sessions this week, had a few, nothing huge, but nice to get a bend in the rod and work a new venue out
  14. Sam Fox, she still looks good for her age now in my opinion.
  15. Blast from the past.
  16. Last week
  17. another evening spent behind the rods
  18. another evening with the rods out
  19. There are 'only' about 30 on the lake this year, from over 100 2 years ago. Bird flu took a big hit on them, more so than the geese. The lake, which is just up the road from Lopham Fen seems to be a spot for young swans to grow before they go get their own territory. The 2 dominant pairs, there were 3, but 1 was killed in a swan fight keep moving them about.
  20. That's a lot of swans , Nick , reminds me of Mistley 😀 .
  21. Dusting off my old shimano aero 11ft 2 1/4lb tc carp rods and 6000 shimano baitrunners on a little pond in the Mole valley. Literally fishing under the rod tips, my baits are each side of the end of the boards. I’ve not used these rods in maybe 15yrs, but this lake didn’t suit either my 12ft 3lb fox torque or my 12 3.5lb fox horizon rods, average carp mid-high singles, with the odd low double, so a lovely through actioned rod like these ones are so much more matched and more fun to play carp on.
  22. Yep depends on what you want out of the mix 👍👍
  23. White crumb is a better binder than brown crumb. I've mentioned it in the past, but when Layer Pits banned spodding (hemp), all the anglers just started fishing groundbait and hemp, firing in balls of it by catapult. Strangely enough that was one of the best match tactics on there from years before where they used to use massive floats and groundbait, casters and hemp at range. I know that Tommy Boulton wrote a chapter on Layer Pits match style in Carp, Quest for the Queen by John Bailey and Martyn Page. Some interesting chapters in there on some Norfolk Waters!
  24. Forgot about crumb tbh, might be the answer to bind it up 👍 Thanks Framey 🙂 As for Groats, err I still mix them in too, and used to years ago with hemp (don't bother with it now} as a spod mix.
