  3. It's that trying to undercut other companies, often with inferior products, that has caused the bait market to be such a nightmare.
  4. And each will be 50p cheaper than the other company £3 a kilo guv…
  5. Do any of you watch dave lanes videos? He had a bit of a shocker with some swans this week. I won't spoil it but it was a funny story.
  6. I've got some citrus wafters £50 😂 I've not used a lot of their bait for years tbh. There will be about 10 new bait companies start up this week though so don't worry.
  7. Never had any luck on Nash bait but then never have much lick on any bait lol, but sorry to see an iconic brand leaving the market
  8. I saw the news this morning although I had heard the rumours from about a week ago. Some of the early palatants and flavours after he split from Catchum and Rod Hutchinson were brilliant. I've used a few of the NashBait boilies but did try to avoid Nash as much as possible. Gary Bayes I believe came with Nash from Rod Hutchinson. Personally I think that the 'stabilised' baits were not as good as the freezer versions of the same bait.
  9. Apparently, as said above ,as Roman armies travelled they needed to be fed ,and brought carp with then to stock ,grow on and harvest .. The famous Pant y Lynn, lake high up in the mountains ,still have wild carp ,maybe with the significant danubian notch .. Here in the westcountry I found a small pool ,and caught a carp that had all the hereditary features of small wildies ,including that notch, it was unlike any feral carp I'd caught previously..it also fought like the devil incarnate !
  10. It's sad ,I reckon when Gary Bayes was involved ,that's when it was at its best ,they reckon..
  11. Wow that laser thing is mad hey! I remember Tufties way back at Beedles lake diving all night non stop, what an absolute nightmare they are. My current friends are Brown ducks some with young - female Mallards maybe? Anyway they're clearing me out in 10 - 12ft
  12. Mix wise: Used Amber Attract alot in my early years, Sting Fish Mix was another good one, Flavour wise Scopex, SSA & Cajun Prawn could go on
  13. It is sad... but tbf I've not rated their gear for many, many years. Long gone are the classics whiskey/sting/amber attract etc.
  14. On my water they do the job for tufties, coots, moorhens and swans. The mallards aren't bothered but they tend not to cause a problem in anything over around 3 ft depth. I got rid of my laser pen several years ago after I saw how the carp react to it. I was perched in the lower branches of a tree watching the carp that were on my spot just up the margin. A couple of coots were diving on it so I got the pen out to scare them off. Big mistake. As the laser hits the water it refracts, and a bright green stripe akin to a light sabre trails through the water. The water is that much denser than air that it really accentuates the laser.... it looked awful. The carp were absolutely horrified - they immediately bolted right out of the bay I was in, and didn't come back until the same time the next day. It was that bad I literally binned the laser as soon as I got home.

  16. Sad to see Nash Bait is being wrapped up, has released some classic mixes and flavours over the years https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1C4wFLRCXM/
  17. The joys of angling hey, good job we like wildlife or they'd get it at times for sure! 😆👍
  18. I got hold of Hutchy's Golden Years after pre-ordering it almost as soon as it was given a release date. Rod Hutchinson was, or is, an angling hero of mine, and I have read many of his own books; from bait to tackle he was a pioneer and understood more than us mere mortals will ever get, so I was really interested in his early life and journey into carp fishing and this book most definitely does not disappoint. From his time at Redmire with Chris Yates, to Savay, with chapters on his captures by long time companion Brian Hankins and his joy for fishing and life by Simon Crow.
  19. Tufty torch doesn't work on here when the mallards and tufties are in the mood. The only thing that keeps them away is a laser pointer pen. In daylight you have to line up on them with the laser pen underneath your binoculars and 'ping' them, that gets rid of them. I had mallards diving over boilies and particles a few weeks ago. I hooked, landed and returned one. The swan last week was not fun either. There were swan wars at the time, and one of the more dominant in the group decided to chase a younger one which tangled up in the line about 2metres from the rod tip, despite the tips being almost touching the water. It took 10minutes to untangle the poxy thing, holding a swan between my legs, while untangling the line from it's wing, head and legs, all the time keeping away from Sky who was on her long lead attached to the bedchair. This week the swans are keeping across the other side of the lake.
  20. Yes mate was using it, sometimes works amazingly - sometimes not at all it's a weird one with those. Firing out an empty spomb works but last resort which is why I went to feeding them floaters instead. Seems like the gits are just in this swim tbh 🤣
  21. Have you tried a Tufty Torch Kev? I've just got one and it works well.
  22. Last week
  23. On a great run there mate 👍
