Interesting carpepacheur, thanks. The one I'm looking at has a return to home feature, which I'm hoping will avoid the need to land on water. The waves on the reservoir would soon drown the electrics, I'm sure. The water is crystal clear, so I am hoping that I will be able to locate my quarry. Good point about lenses

Thanks. I've been looking at the mini 2. Is it worth getting the fly more package? Noted about licence etc. The mini is under 250g but need it for commercial use. The venue is private and no ban as to my knowledge, I'll try to stay under the radar as it were👍

Hi, I am interested in purchasing a drone partly for work (aerial view of the property obviously) & from the recent videos I've seen, it appears to be a handy bit of kit for locating fish. Now I know this will get some peoples nose out of joint(& apologies) , but as others know and appreciate, my time on the bank is limited and precious, so I'd like to find the needle in the haystack as it were. On the near 300 acre reservoir I'm on, I often feel that my limited time and swim choice is not best. So the minefield im unsure of is what drone to get? They start at £100 & literally the sky is the limit! Never flown one before & worry that I may stack several hundred quids worth of kit flying around the reservoir! Any advice or experiences welcome

Yeah the wind has been a nightmare all day. Calmed down so re-did the rods a few more spods and all set for the night. 🤞 It's blooming freezing though🥶

I'm hoping for some good news from the government today. The landlord of my resi has said we can only do one night, as that's how he's interpreted the rules🙄 Everywhere else I heard is open as usual. He's not having any of it, so fingers crossed it gets clarification today 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Happy hunting mate

Just got back from prebaiting for my 48 next weekend. I can't wait to get set up for the first time this year. I've usually managed to get out before this time of year, but as carbell says it could be one of the best times of the year to be out.

I recall getting one of these a while back. The concept is good, but I found the needle would tend to bend and not go straight through a hookbait or pop up, leaving the presentation awkward. Often taking many attempts before I was pleased with a snowman set up. My preferred needle is the fox one, goes through the hardest of pop up with ease, doesn't split hard or soft boilies and I get perfect presentation first time. https://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/fox-edges-micro-fine-needle

Sticky sharp is how the guy in my local shop described it to me, when I asked for a demo. Ever since my hooks always go out sticky sharp.👍 It hasn't massively increased my fish on the bank, but I've got every confidence in it. I land every bite.

This was taken on just a phone. One of many good scenic shots on my new water, last year. It wasn't all bad. Can't wait to get out on the bank for a few nights🤞

That is some broom handle my man. Would it be possible that you have a 50mm butt ring on these rods? I've used these for 6 years, no issues whatsoever and I like that it grips the rod incase you get a hard take. (I wish🙄) https://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/prologic-butt-klinger-rod-rest?gclid=CjwKCAiAuoqABhAsEiwAdSkVVGRe9cqwwJ7Jg6GwDbTwOSfp0OaKAdMxssJHMn7LezTxTWBJQwk-DBoCSAUQAvD_BwE

That's a shame mate I've not had a fish in snow, but a few good ones in - 2/4 degrees. I quite like fishing this time of year. It's supposed to be dry next week, so fingers crossed I won't have to pack up wet🤞

In my experience you'd be lucky to get a year's use out of any Trakker products. I've had a landing net fell apart within a few outings. The bid snooze 4 seasons, again the stitching came apart within a few outings. Got a Trakker 2 piece suit from a mate for a gift. Just started wearing the jacket and that's ripped open like it was made of paper. Their customer service is detritus too. I would personally avoid their products like cheap Chinese knock offs.

My plans are to stay at the reservoir and estate lakes. & as seems commonplace loose a bit of weight and stop smoking😏 Goal is to beat my PB (30), although to just start catching carp from the resi would be nice. It's been a bit of a learning curve on such a big water, but I'm enjoying what little time I have had there.. Everything considered, things are not too bad for me, I've got a job, my loved ones are OK, I hope the new year is kind to us all..

I agree, one more sesh before 21. Id give good money to have a decent fish before the year is out!

So I've happily spooled up the hydrotuff. I also got the Nash 40lb mono snag leader and to my disappointment I was unable to tie it to the mainline with my preferred allbprite knot. I had many failed attempts. The snag leader is is too stiff. I then tried the pictured end to end grinner knot, which was also quite tricky and many failed attempts. I managed to get away with 3 turns on the snag leader grinner. Tested to destruction because I want to do everything I can to make sure I won't get cut off again. Not a particularly the nice, neat knot that I was after, so I wondering if anyone knows of a better knot??

Fingers crossed for you mate

I suppose, but the brand have been around for a while. I'm sure my first alarm was an optonic. If only?? -

I quite like the look of these. Plenty of other bits I need first though. C'mon the lottery win, it must be my turn soon https://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/optonic-g3-smart-bite-alarm -
Best Rods for Around £100 2020
commonly replied to fishingaddict's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
I recently brought the shimmy spod rod. Very impressed with it. Only problem is I now want 3 new rods to match. Is there a lot of difference between the tx2 & tx4's? Apart from the obvious cost!
