  1. There’s a runs water I fish that has a few weird rules but the most annoying one is no artificial baits. Apparently a carp died, when they did a biopsy it was full of fake corn 🤔🤔🤔This was straight from the bailiffs mouth but not sure how true that really is lol but never had my rigs checked there and must of done over 50 sessions there easy lol
  2. I use a 2.6m sib for sea fishing, it’s so much fun lol If you get one invest in a decent pump, them foot pumps are soul destroying 😂😂I’m waiting on my new outboard motor then I can get back out there 🤪👍😂
  3. I will give it a try mate
  4. I’ve gone for squid and octopus in 15mm white, I’m using sticky krill bottom baits so hopefully a fishy pop up should do well 😁 What drill the bait out and stick some foam/cork in it? I wonder if you could just use a piece of on the rig instead of putting in it, like they do on a zig rig? 🤔
  5. I’ll take a look at Trent baits and ub baits now mate. I will get some proper job pop ups ordered as well, thanks 👍👍
  6. Cheers mate, where do you get your cork ball pop ups from? I’m on the proper job pop ups website now, looking at the squid and octopus ones. Would you use the mega buoyant or standard ones? 🤔
  7. What pop ups are good to use with the Ronnie rig? ive never used one before but want to give it a go. ive got a size 6 Nash fang x hook, with a Korda spinner ring swivel size 11, with a metal bait screw which is on a ring. Piece of shrink tube over the swivel and eye of the hook and a hook head to stop the bait screw going too far forward. I’ve just tested it in a bowl with a 16mm sticky krill pop up and it doesn’t seem very buoyant. It doesn’t sit in the same position when you drop it in. I’m not sure if I’m using something too heavy terminal tackle wise or if it’s the pop up. Here’s a picture of my rig, it’s sat okay in the picture but doesn’t always sit like it, sometime the hook will lay pretty much on the deck. I’m wondering if I should try a different brand of pop up or a micro ring swivel instead of a bait screw? any advice on this would be great thanks 👍👍
  8. When I fish a snowman rig say 18mm or 20mm bottom bait with 14mm (I think)pop up I use a size 4 curve shank, have used 6s but prefer 4s with that size bait. Works for me, but I do think it’s always good to experiment a bit 😁👍
  9. But if you were to lay the lead on the work surface, balance the point on your finger so there’s some slack in between your finger and lead, then lift your hand with a bit of speed, it would stick in then surely? Obviously if you do it real slow you could get it to not penetrate your skin? im not saying you’re wrong or anything just trying to get my head around it lol. ive done well with Korda hooks straight out the pack but did find the point dulled really quick while being out in the lake so have now switched to muggas and think they are good hooks 👍
  10. Are you tying your own rigs mate? As for leads I think I remember reading a good rule of thumb is for every lb your rod test curve is, use an ounce. So say you’re using a 2.5lb rod, 2.5 ounce lead would be a good casting weight. most of my fishing is done with 2.75 tc rods, I normally use 2 - 2.5oz leads. But have done 3oz no problem.
  11. Cheers lads I'm going to have a look at it later 👍 would be nice for fishing out of, could lie a bed chair down in the back lol
  12. Cheers mate, there's a bit of dig in the side of it but not really fussed about that. Here's the link to it its gone down to 3400 now lol https://www.gumtree.com/p/vans/renault-trafic-sl27dci-100-van-cam-belt-replaced-service-done-/1372112029
  13. I don’t know if anyone knows anything about vans but I’m looking at a Renault trafic. 06 plate 113,000 miles 1900cc diesel cambelt was replaced last month mot may 2021 short wheel base £3,495, possibly get it cheaper if I trade my van in, if they want it, it’s ready for the scrapyard 😂 any thoughts on this?
  14. if you want solid just get the fox r2 camo bed chair, feels like lying on a hard floor lol. I've tried standing on it but its still hard as ever lol
  15. I wonder what the deal is with lakes and social distancing, are we still allowed to go or would it be wrong to go? Hope all of you are keeping well, the loonies are stockpiling like mad down in Devon, haven't been able to get bread for the last week lol

    Dogs and fishing

I first took mine when it was 12 weeks old and after a few hours it got bored and just savaged me, constant puppy biting. Telling it no and saying ouch just excited it even more lol I think I packed up after 5 hours. Good luck mate 😂😂
  17. This may sound silly but pike do feed at night right? I’m thinking of going down the canal after work and chucking a couple dead baits out. By the way if bottom fishing would you use a small running lead or just freeline? I’ll probably be using a smallish mackerel or something similar to that size lol
  18. Thanks I will pick one up, I’ve got one with the bars but it’s pretty chunky and not ideal when trying to take minimal kit lol
  19. Do weigh slings need to have the bars in them? I've seen a few that are just the bag Are these safe for the fish or do they need the support bars in to keep the sling straight?

I think with cockerpoos it's best to check it's parents/blood lines, if it's got working cockerspaniel in it, they can be a bit of a handful. This is what I've been told by a cockerpoo owner anyway lol. The dog looks well cute though mate haha

She has raw bones apparently they keep them clean lol I did try some meaty toothpaste and brush when she was a pup but she ended trying to eat the brush so stopped doing it 😂 Nice mate there's still hope then lol and my niece plays with her and gets tired before the dog does 😂 We've just got to the canal gonna have a walk and look for some fish and then fish from the van to kill some time lol 👍

Cheers mate Not on the lakes mate she barks at people coming close to the bivvy, likes to let me know someone is coming 😂 I take her on the river and canal though, there’s some ropey people who walk the banks down there especially at night so don’t mind her barking to let me know someone is coming lol. She is 2 this month so still pretty young, hopefully she grows out of it/calms down as she gets older 😂 she’s pretty hard to settle on the bank as well, wants to play all the time and doesn’t like sitting down for too long 😩😂 did yours calm down as he got older??
  23. couple kilo of pigeon conditioner cooked up, gonna start baiting up a spot on the canal where I can fish from the van. Can’t wait for all this rain to stop my river hasn’t been fishable since November/December time, it’s tidal so I’m hoping all the carp hasn’t been washed out to sea 😂

Yeah mate they are nuts ain’t they 😂 I used to have one and she was mad for anything that moved. I tried taking her when I was a teenager and she jumped in the water when I wasn’t looking and swam after a duck and ended up on the island. I managed to call her back but didn’t take her much after that 😂😂 Would be good 😂 it’s good on the canal/river though with strange people walk past at night, she will make herself known and they give the bivvy wide birth 😂😂😂
