  1. Yep, £12 for an isotope is dear; mainly because you're paying half if it for the fancy packaging I bought mine of Ebay complete with isotope for a score each
  2. Like what? Their end tackle is priced comparably with all other manufacturers (You can get cheaper, but you can also get dearer).
  3. I used Korda Dark Matter braid hooklink this week. Would recommend it (As I would N-Trap soft and semi-stiff )
  4. Agreed, but with a super sharp micro barb (I only ever use micro barb) i think the difference is negligible.
  5. This is the only pro for barbless in my opinion. Although, as you state, it is a fairly big one
  6. If everyone was the same, what a boring place the world would be I don't want to be normal, I want to be me
  7. Or it may just be the waters you've been fishing. All part of the conundrum that keeps us coming back for more, and which means no one method is foolproof
  8. Don't worry, I've got about 20 boxes of Korda Kaptor hooks, so I'll keep DF in the luxury he's accustomed to (I've also got Kamasan, Ace and Gardner hooks, so I'm not exclusively paying for DF I actually took 15 boxes of new hooks out of my tackle bag at the weekend, and still had the same in my tackle box ) EDIT:- And I bought some more in the tackle shop on Friday
  9. You can fish all waters excluding Broadlands. To fish Broadlands is an extra £15 a season for days with an additional nightly charge if you want to fish nights. At Sinah you can only use one rod and fish for a maximum of 48 hours. For an additional £30 you can fish two rods or for an additional £50 you can fish 3 rods and for an additional £150 you can fish for a maximum of 72 hours. At Lakeside you can only fish two rods and for an additional £20 you can fish 3 rods.
  10. Lovely looking fish I haven't been river fishing for too long. Might have to have a day out with a rod and a rucksack soon!
  11. Reel repairs are carried out by The Tackle Box in Dartford[/url] (Other repair services are available ). Give them a call and discuss your issue. They will offer advice if possible.
  12. I think it's a reasonable price to be honest. If I were anywhere near Derbyshire. I'd seriously consider it
  13. Combi rig with the soft section only about an inch or so long, with an SSG over the knot rather than putty; a rig ring on the hook with a critically balanced hookbait (Boilie and plastic pop up corn), with either armamesh or super wrap on the boilie, and an extenda stop.
  14. Tim, the hook goes over the fixed bar on the rim of the disc, then you wrap the rig around the wheel. The loop of the rig is then hooked over one of the hooks on the moveable yellow plastic bits. You can put two rigs per disc, one on either side of the wheel, and you'll need to unhook one to get the other rig off (Depending on which rig you use). If this doesn't make any sense, let me know and I'll put up some photo's o a short video showing you what my gibberish is supposed to mean.
  15. Ardleigh Fishing Rules Permits 1. A valid Environment Agency licence must be obtained before fishing. 2. Permits are only available from the fishing lodge where there is a self service facility. 3. Permits must be produced on demand to the warden or other officers appointed by the Ardleigh Reservoir Committee or any other permit holder. Fishing areas 4. No angler should fish more than half way across the reservoir in the area marked on the map (See Ardleigh website) General 9. Anglers must comply with instructions issued by authorised wardens. 10. Any angler who uses foul or abusive language or threatening behaviour towards anyone else will be required to vacate the site immediately and have their permit cancelled. 11. Anglers must remove all litter or put it in an appropriate litter bin. 12. No open fires are permitted and no noisy music may be played. 13. No dogs are allowed on the site. 14. Carp anglers should have a medicarp kit to treat any injured fish.
  16. That is a lovely looking common
  17. I don't know anything about the water, but I'd be put off by the 48 hour fishing limit. If you pay loads of cash for a syndicate, you should be able to spend a week or fortnight there if you are lucky enough to be able to get the free time.
  18. I tend to tie a fairly short hair in the first place, and it's easy to lengthen with extenda stops. I don't know a reliable way to shorten the hair, other than work the knotless knot loose, tie it again, and then straighten it with the kettle.
  19. That now makes perfect sense, I didn't realise that a lurcher was a cross breed, and that the percentage of the cross breeding was recorded.
  20. Is it two lurcher's (One a 3/8 and one a 5/8) or is it just one? And what do the 3/8 and 5/8 mean? And yes, I know I'm nosey
