I'm over the moon, Tim. More so with the mature performance than anything else. I have to say, it's renewed my confidence in Wenger. I love the flowing, passing football that we play; but sometimes you need to look at the opposition and adjust your tactics to suit. It's something that Mourinho is a master of, and something that I didn't think Wenger had in him. I'm happy to be proved wrong although confused that he hasn't done it before

After playing abysmally in the 1st half; West Ham took Hull apart in the 2nd half and were worthy of the victory. If Hull knew how to hit the back of the net, it would have been a different story. Steve Bruce needs a goalscorer during the January transfer window or I think Hull will be playing in the Championship next season.

Maidstone Victory is a bit up the road from you, but is another club ticket that offers a variety of angling.

The Canterbury & District Angling Association is a club which offers both river and lake fishing, and even a fly fishing lake if you fancy it They have lakes for varying levels of angler and the couple of people that I know who are members rate the club highly. There's obviously Mid Kent Fisheries. They have lost a few waters in the last couple of years but still offer some decent lakes and represent good value for money. Medway Valley Fisheries have some nice waters, including the Larkfield Complex that used to be run by Mid Kent Fisheries. There are a plethora of waters around the Canterbury area, from a hundred quid a year to a hell of a lot more, to day ticket fisheries. Get on google and then visit some waters. You really do live in a part of the world where you are spoilt for choice.

Kent is a big place mate. You need to narrow the search a bit

I use a figure of 8 loop knot on the end of my rigs, the swivels that Tim has posted and an anti tangle sleeve (Also as Tim has posted ) Never have any grief

To be honest, I fish it so rarely like this that I've just never lost the lead. But if I were worried I'd just tie the clip up with a bit of PVA string, Tim. I don't like dumping the lead at all if I can help it.

I do that with a standard Fox lead clip. No need for the plastic bit at the bottom, just leave out the clip. There's a little bit of resistance when carp first feels the hook and then the swivel comes out of the lead clip and runs free. If you want to make sure that the lead comes off when it hits the putty though, don't use a tail rubber.

Tim, look at the video I've posted. It's a carbon copy of how I do it, and is exactly the same as Nick describes other than it doesn't use a double ring swivel.
