  1. Or it may just be the waters you've been fishing. All part of the conundrum that keeps us coming back for more, and which means no one method is foolproof
  2. Don't worry, I've got about 20 boxes of Korda Kaptor hooks, so I'll keep DF in the luxury he's accustomed to (I've also got Kamasan, Ace and Gardner hooks, so I'm not exclusively paying for DF I actually took 15 boxes of new hooks out of my tackle bag at the weekend, and still had the same in my tackle box ) EDIT:- And I bought some more in the tackle shop on Friday
  3. Get the glue out, Nick
  4. Lovely looking fish I haven't been river fishing for too long. Might have to have a day out with a rod and a rucksack soon!
  5. Reel repairs are carried out by The Tackle Box in Dartford[/url] (Other repair services are available ). Give them a call and discuss your issue. They will offer advice if possible.
  6. Combi rig with the soft section only about an inch or so long, with an SSG over the knot rather than putty; a rig ring on the hook with a critically balanced hookbait (Boilie and plastic pop up corn), with either armamesh or super wrap on the boilie, and an extenda stop.
  7. Tim, the hook goes over the fixed bar on the rim of the disc, then you wrap the rig around the wheel. The loop of the rig is then hooked over one of the hooks on the moveable yellow plastic bits. You can put two rigs per disc, one on either side of the wheel, and you'll need to unhook one to get the other rig off (Depending on which rig you use). If this doesn't make any sense, let me know and I'll put up some photo's o a short video showing you what my gibberish is supposed to mean.
  8. That is a lovely looking common
  9. I tend to tie a fairly short hair in the first place, and it's easy to lengthen with extenda stops. I don't know a reliable way to shorten the hair, other than work the knotless knot loose, tie it again, and then straighten it with the kettle.
  10. That now makes perfect sense, I didn't realise that a lurcher was a cross breed, and that the percentage of the cross breeding was recorded.
  11. Is it two lurcher's (One a 3/8 and one a 5/8) or is it just one? And what do the 3/8 and 5/8 mean? And yes, I know I'm nosey
  12. Which, to a layman is???
  13. I don't know if you can do it in this country, but in the States, farmers hire bees' to pollinate crops. Might be worth looking into to earn a bit of cash. Especially with the billions of bees' that are dying at the minute.
  14. I've bought some as well, but I've not used them yet. I'm expecting big things, wide gape, curve shank, beak point. The hook pattern sounds like a winner to me.
  15. Approximately 20 - 25 medium eggs would give you a litre.
  16. Surely you should be boiling using distilled water then which is pure H2O as there are also additives, albeit natural ones, in spring water.
  17. Taken from the CC Moore website: Whole egg powder can be used to replace liquid egg by mixing it with water to create your own 'liquid egg'. We suggest using 250-320g of whole egg powder to make 1 litre of liquid egg, but a higher level inclusion will increase the binding potential of the liquid.
  18. Amen to that!!!
  19. Combi rig
  20. I am indeed mate It'll only be a few more years and I'll have him at the Emirates
  21. I would imagine the 8 of them would have been loud enough to need ear defenders. When you get more than on they can compete with each other to see who is the loudest, and has the biggest kahunas
  22. Me too, think you'd get some funny looks being pulled to work on a wheeled sled though
  23. Nope. If it is not for commercial use, then you can legally keep a cockerel at a residential address (There may be local bylaws that date back go knows how many years regarding the keeping of livestock which prevent the keeping of a cockerel, but this is not a national law). People can still complain if the cockerel makes lost of noise at inopportune times, but it's just like any complaint about unsociable noise, not because it is a cockerel.
  24. Sunday lunch round yours in a few weeks then Tim
