  1. Ejecting the lead on every take is the biggest load of old tosh I've heard in all my years fishing. The ridiculous reason that most sponsored money grabbers anglers give is that you are 'in direct contact with the fish'. Rubbish, there are 16 ounces in a pound, so a five pound fish weighs 80 ounces, what difference is even a four ounce lead going to make?

  5. Sorry to hear that Andy
  6. Yes, you win one boilie stop. Send a stamped addressed envelope and I'll send it to you
  7. I use these lead clips, with these quick change swivels, and this tubing (Changing colour dependent on where I am fishing). Never had any issues with them whatsoever. Although, the ones you have posted seem fine to me (Although, I prefer tungsten tubing. I have more confidence that it is hugging the lake bed).
  8. I' glad you cleared that up. I was thinking you had cut the trunk off your new elephant to stop it running away
  9. Hello mate and welcome to the asylum I'd keep it simple to start and get some coated braid hooklink, it can be used to make a multitude if rigs and will help to keep the cost down. I'd couple it with SIZE 6 and size 8 hooks. And maybe some pva bags for the weedy lake.
  10. Get yourself a Photobucket account. Upload the pictures to photobucket Copy the image URL of the picture you want to show (There are different ways to do this, but the easiest (And a way you can use on any picture on the internet) is to have the full size picture on display on your screen, hover the mouse arrow over it, right click and click Copy Image URL). When replying to (Or starting) a thread; click on the little picture on the toolbar at the top of the post (Second row, 9th in from the right) and paste the image url in the pop up box. Click OK and when you post the picture should be in the post.
  11. Fantastic day out mate. Nice one. I've taken the liberty of directly posting you pictures below, hopefully you don't mind Cyborx and his 12lb PB pike: Cyborx and his new PB 25lb pike:
  12. Great tip
  13. Give Sky a call and find out if they are providing you with broadband on ADSL2+. You would have definitely got it from Be. This could be the difference.
  14. I've not used it but, if I had had the experiences you've had with it. It would be in the bin!!!
  15. This really gets my hackles up. Idiocy of the highest order
  16. I used to catch with it Pete. Wouldn't say I did amazingly well, but I was only an apprentice and a kilo of boilies cost me an arm and a leg so only two or three freebies went in with it I always had the float rod out as well which was my man source of fishing at the time. I saved for months to buy a carbon composite rod and a reel because I wanted to try carp fishing and then a kilo of boilies had to last about 6-8 weeks.
  17. I used to fish it with roughly 30mm from the hook to the bait.
  18. Makes the point of the hook heavy, which helps pull it straight down into the bottom lip.
  19. That was my first ever rig about 25 or so years ago. I used green cotton from my mums sewing box and a half blood knot to tie it on the hook.
  20. Personally, I don't see the point of spending all of the extra cash on a custom built rod. But then, I've never used one either. If I were to try one I might totally change my mind.
  21. I use crimps, really like them, not had one slip on me yet. The key is to get the crimp tight to the swivel so there is little to no slack to the crimped loop (If that makes sense).
  22. They've been showing them on Discovery Shed. Great old school programme.
  23. Discovery Shed has dug up a gem with that one
