  1. OK mate pm me you number I've got lots of kit so don't panic about buying anything new . Could set you up with some daiwa rods shimano reels and fox alarms for the day if you wanted , but I leave that up to you
  2. Cm , I hope that's tounge and cheak as I 'm certainly no expert fella , but I 'm confident in what I do . Bigd26 will try and sort something in the week or two , will have a look at possible venues and try and go mid week so it's quiet for us and more chance to move onto fish etc.
  3. Ah ,you not driving makes it more difficult mate I'm probably about an hour away from you . So fishing around your way would be better any lakes near you ? Could do with a run or two been banging my head on a low stock lake the few times I've actually managed to go fishing this year . But more than happy to swing by pick you up and have a day somewhere near you . Can't promise when as I'm a busy man but at some point .
  4. Nice out that way , I 'm the other side near Broadway mate , I got a local ticket to fish the Avon around Evesham this year only managed to get out twice to try for the carp and blanked but I know there's a 30 in the area to try for ..... could have a day there at some point if you fancy it ? Or meet up in Stratford for a go on the canal not fished it but like a challenge .
  5. Morning bigd26 , are you local to Stratford mate ? It's not that far from me and would be more than happy to meet up for a spot of fishing at some point fella ?
  6. Cm ,I only mentioned if he was fishing braid wondering if the lack of stretch and the fact he is really having to bully them , was exerting more pressure on the hook than with mono , certainly wasn't to wind up a grumpy old man.
  7. Just seen this Em.... crackers
  8. Not wanting to start a big debate again on the subject but am I right in thinking you fish braid mainline ? Or have I got you confused with someone else ? Also have you had a chat with fellow anglers on the lake to see if there experiencing similar issues ?
  9. Fishing can be ugly at times mate .... The fact that your considering your options speaks volumes and is all you can do , stick with the micro barb .
  10. Your right mate Urban Canal Carp Fishing - Urban Banx 5 with Alan…:
  11. So I take it the braid has slipped behind the eye where it bends round , and doesn't quite meet the back of the hook going down ? If your first rap of braid is always the other side of the hook this won't happen .
  12. Hi Phil ,I take it your rapping the braid away from the open part of the eye when you make your rigs ?
  13. I've heard a few people mention these ace hooks open up. I've been using the avid hooks, and I'm really impressed with them .Strong super sharp out of the pack and no need to keep touching them up with a file , they have remained sharp after a few sessions and fish .
  14. I think what normally happens hear dal, is you you just set up your hives permanently in the farmers crops . As you can't just pick up a hive and move it , the bees would return to where you took them from . I think I can remember reading that you can move the hive 3 ft a day without annoying the colony to much. Still a novice myself so could be wrong .
  15. We found the swarm in the spring ... got them settled in there new hive . I don't know how much you know about bee keeking Buzz , but you have the brood chamber where the queen does her sole job of laying eggs and the honey supers ( chambers) where you harvest your honey from . The queen is unable to enter the honey supers due to a grid with gaps to small for her to pass through, so she can't lay eggs in there . So when you get a new swarm the first job is to get the colony going in the brood chamber then you add the honey supers later..... We should get a fairly good crop in a few weeks , next year will be even better though . Really enjoying it if the truth be told
  16. Taxi for Tim Thought about it Andy but 60.0000 names is an awful lot lol
  17. Not exactly a pet I know, but after finding a swarm down our field in the spring have taken up bee keeking .
  18. Hi mate , I just googled him and found the website , but there are no prices on there . What sort of money are we talking ? unless he's allot cheaper personally I would go with cotswold rods . where are you based ? you can have a day down at cotswold rods trying blanks out and then they will make them to your spec taking in to consideration your height and build etc and what you need them for so you end up with a rod built just for you and your needs .
  19. If anyone can charm a way in mate ... as doug would say " old golden balls "
