It’s not the test curve of the rod it’s the action you need to consider
you can get a baggy 3.5lb test curve and a tighter 2.75lb test curve and the 3.5 will be better to play on than the 2.75 but the 2.75 will cast further than the 3.5.
I know you are supposed to need a license to fish in the sea in Spain and the Spanish islands.
most get away with it but my luck I wouldn’t lol
the license place is in Tenerife (from memory) but there is a guy who lives there that Will sort the license out for you that seems to come highly recommended.
will try and find his details as I was going to do it for the next time I go to Gran Canaria
I used to use 8lb nylon with a leader of 50lb years ago and ever had a problem as the leader takes the shock of the cast not the mainline
With 25lb braid as there is no stretch in it I would add a leader minimum 40lb preferably 50lb as a spod could weigh somewhere between 5 or 7 oz. giving it the buggun will cause issues.
Make sure your cast is smooth and not snatchy
The blue lens are great for sea fishing abroad where they have clear water
i still have a pair of optic somewhere might have to find them out for the rivers
I think you may struggle to get anything any good for that value
especially 3 of them
the jrc radar get good reviews as do some of the sonics
you could also look at the Nash s5r
No reason why you shouldn’t try to tie it at least, it might suit your fishing.
don’t go and buy anything you haven’t got as it will be a waste of money for 1 rig lol
To be fair
all these people are anglers who have written a book not writers who fish.
i think maybe the publishers are to blame in not getting them proof read before release.
but in all these cases it all boils down to money as with most things in the tackle trade “just get it out attitude”
Agree with Keith Jenkins books
Also the syndicate series.
illusions of maya is another carp related read, mixed in with past present and future stuff strange layout but it’s great imo. Probably better than the syndicate series if you have read those
and then the Martin Lawrence books
I don’t like the “I caught this and moved onto this water and had this one out” kind of books.they mainly bore me to tears and all same just a different person telling the same old story.
most can be bought via kindle and they are cheap well worth it.
Usually synchro or Xt in 12lb generally
15 lb if weedy
X line in 19lb
and I have just spooled up a spare set of spools with the Korda tapered line in 12lb
I used to use big game or pro gold(harder and harder to get hold off)
dabbled with the pro blend from. Gardner
along with loads of different ones over the years like
maxima sylcast gr60 etc
Google a bait makers diary on YouTube this month mark Bryant from baitworks says how to make cork ball pop ups albeit using a kit from them.terry Hearn also has a you tube video from a few years ago saying how to do it.
