  1. Your quiet right,Ian. A social with a few of the lads sounds perfect. Most of the ‘old crew’ don’t come on here as much, shame really it was a good laugh. As far as venues my best social was merrington. Just over an hr away from me and I actually caught a few fish 😳😳😆 I see theve banned zigs there and not sure if the cafe is still the same standard but it ticks all the boxes for a social i think. I do know it’s been fishing it’s head off the last few weeks so there still coming out. What do you think ?
  2. Just had the green light for some back pay from work from 2017 and gave some thought on getting one. My circumstances are i Work a LOT of extra hours, always have. I’ve been looking at a few club waters some old sand quarry’s 40/50ft deep in places and tbh a deeper would be ideal for my fishing. With still having a youngish family and hectic work life my angling time really is at a premium. If it can give me an extra hr actually fishing then I’m all for it. 😬😎
  3. Can’t beat a good social,mate. 😎
  4. And ample room for a net,as well.
  5. There was ample room for a rod on the jetty. I suppose we’ll never know his thinking behind his set up. At least he had the gonads to show his loss and have it on film.
  6. Looked like the heat was a killer. Made up for Oz tho😎 Go get em in spring, mate. 🎣
  7. That’s how I do mine,Julian Cundiff style 😉😬
  8. I agree with virtually all the above statements tbf. His net could of been on the boat next to the jetty,he could of sat on the jetty he was fishing 40/50 yards away so was hardly going to spook em. If his window of bite time was 2-3hrs then in my opinion sitting on your rods would of been a better option probably would of looked more “carpy” if he was making a brew 😆😆 But I also think Martin Bowler is probably the best all rounder in the game at the min,so I’d like to think he just fished the way he thought best...... be that for the camera or not.
  9. Cheers mate.
  10. Same as you Nick. Was a hard watch at first but it looks like 2 mates having a laff fishing and i ended up enjoying it.
  11. Cheers Gaz.
  12. Cheers Kev. Lap of the gods it is. Fingers crossed.
  13. It looks like we’ve got a spawnbound fish on our water. It’s came out twice in the last 3 wks so it’s still munching. I was just wondering if there’s anything we could do to help it if it’s recaptured or do we just leave it and hopefully it will re absorb the spawn. What reasons would it be spawnbound ? Is it in the lap of the gods that we will lose the fish ?
  14. Friend for life there mate. 😉😎
  15. Good read BC 😎 Sod buying a new shelter I’ll just give my Stealth some TLC. As you’ve said it really is bulletproof.
  16. I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread. I’ve had my JRC Stealth brolly for nearly 9 years now 😳 and tbf it’s been bullet proof. Just starting to have a little leak in one place but seeing as I’ve never re treated it i suppose I was due a leak sooner rather than later.🙄😬 My main priorities for a shelter has to be durability. My local water is on the Mersey estuary and the wind/weather is brutal. It’s seen off countless Brolly/Bivvies over the years 🙄🙄😆😆 So ideally something that’s rock solid. The Stealth has done me proud, but as you can imagine after 9 years use it’s looking a bit tatty now. 🙄
  17. Dare I say ‘Passion for Angling’ There a bit different to the Korda ones, but if the above doesn’t want you drop everything and go wet a line, nothing will ! 😉
  18. Yes Frank. I seem to remember one about a 4lb roach as well ?
  19. I remember reading this,Frank. 😎
  20. Working wk ends should be banned !!!! Good for the bank balance...... bad for the soul 😩😩🎣🎣
  21. I find PVA bags a bit fiddly and do mine slightly different. Bottom 1/4 is just groundbait and the rest micro pellet and boilie crumb. I make the bag up,snip the top to make a flap and lick and stick. I can make really solid, compact bags with no lead/hooklink in the way. Give the bag a good piercing then attach to your hooklength via a stringer needle. Groundbait at the bottom to protect the hook point then attach to lead clip. If it’s not too damp you can have one ready made so if you do catch it’s a case of unhook old hooklink, attach new and recast. I’m positive this has nicked me bonus fish when there on a short feeding spell. It’s an old pic but hopefully you’ll get an idea of what I’ve said.
  22. It seems that Fox has acquired Spomb international. Prices to rise maybe ?
  23. Welcome to the forum. No it’s not unusual for fish to take “different” baits. It’s been well documented over the years of carp being caught on a variety of baits. What I will say about Krave is they go soft quite quick,I know this as there my young sons favourite and if he leaves a few they go mushy quite quick. My favourite change bait is liquorice...... they catch allsorts. I’ll get my coat ....... 🙄🙄😬
  24. As above,at the edge of the main area. Sometimes tho just plowing through the small ones is the only real option. What’s everyone using on your water ? If everyone was on 18/20millers I’d definitely have a go with smaller baits.
  25. YouTube Julian Cundiff multi rig........ I’ve used this set up for 3 years now and can honestly say I’ve never lost a fish on it. Really good video, mate. 😉
