Thanks for all the replies fellas . I have 2 old fridge freezers in my garage so I can store my bait safely , but my rods , nets , and lugage won't fit . From your replies it reads that I'll just have to carry on storing my bigger items indoors - damn ! . 🥲

Hi Everyone In the Winter I bring the more chewable bits of my tackle indoors . Now it's getting warmer do you think I am safe to put all my fishing gear back in my garage , or do you think Mice will still be on the lookout for nest making material please ? . 😃

It seems everyone needs you to download their App. , can't have a physical piece of plastic anymore . Then you find that you need a new mobile as it isn't new enough to support the App. . As I'm well into my sixties I feel like I'm being marginalised , and the world's just for youngsters like Elmo ! . 😁

I agree , Elmo . Yes my Deeper Pro+ is so much quicker at mapping than a marker float , and lead , but I can never find the interesting spots the Deeper finds later on with my Marker .

Thanks very much , Blue . Now I have some thinking to do , as I believe I own the Sharpes Scottie you mention ( have to get my tape measure out ) . The thing is for speed at the end of a session I leave my rods , complete with pop up , tackled up and just take them apart and put them in a rod sleeve . I don't think a cane rod would appreciate this sort of abuse . I did meet Chris Ball once , and he mentioned that as waters were weedier these days he had moved from using a cane rod to a fibreglass Jack Hilton Carp 1 1/2 t/c . 🤔

Hi Blue . I should be going to The Yorkshire Vintage Tackle Fair next month which made me think " if Blue. could only keep 1 of his cane rods which 1 would it be ? " . Also " Is the B. James Mk. 4 Carp Rod the best rod to have ? " . 😃

I think I remember Chris Ball writing in the little book he wrote with Brian Skoyles that he used 6lb ( ? ) Maxima paired with a 9ft. Seeker rod to catch carp up to 30lbs . I might pull on my big boy pants , and use 10lb Hydrotuff , because I stress about snags , and I don't know if I have the cojones to go down to 8lb .😱 Just a case of balanced tackle I guess ? . 😃

Now I'm wondering as 2024 was a disrupted year for me , and I only went fishing 20 times should I put fresh line on my reels , or am I just being lazy ? . I guess , at the end of the day it's your line , and hook that land the fish , so I shouldn't try to save time ? . 😃

You mean they don't stock sharks in your lake , Blue ? 😁 . So use my through action 1 1/2 t/c rod , and 10 lb Hydrotuff to absorb the power of all these monster carp with a passion for prawns that I'm gong to catch , Blue ? . 😃

It's time to put new lines on my reels so I thought I would carry on using Hydrotuff , but I have heard RigMarole are bringing out some new products , and I wondered if that included bringing back their SLS Specimen Tough ? . Also what about the line for my controller , and free line floater fishing ? ; I'm currently using Korda Kruiser Control . Any thoughts please ? .
