  1. Mugga's. Don't be afraid to just use a dozen whole and chopped tigers. If they are in the right place the carp will find 'em.
  2. Clumber park holds some monsters- locals are very unfriendly though. So whatever you do- don't mention that there are 40's swimming around in it.
  3. Its just by the railway museum near ripley. I think it's about 25 quid a year and you get codnor park aswell (which used to hoold a few decent fish). Nights are extra, as is a third rod. Reckon it's about £70 for a full ticket. Try somercotes angling centre for a ticket and more info.
  4. Got to be passion. The episode where they are talking to the game keeper about the 5foot long common that he's seen swimming in the estate lake.
  5. Butterly has been stocked with loads of pasties- so there's quite a few fish to go at now...but there's still quite a few bigger fish to go at too. Can be very weedy though- they haven't really got on top of the weed since the EA knacked things up.
  6. Crackin photo Jez- well done Matt.
  7. Theres a set of match lakes 1 junction down the A50 - the biggest lake has done fish over 20lb's.
  8. the simple response is "loop to loop". I'm sure others will be along with their views on "pre-made safety clips and rigs". You do know Dynema floats?
  9. That's one hell of a comprehensive reply Neil It's not easy this moderating business you know. Cut, paste, lock....it's a very complicated business
  10. Thread moved onto teh main "Drayton Res" thread.
  11. Cheers CC. I think I'm finally getting to grips with the Ebro- taken me a long time and a lot of visits. Its such a massive piece of water; between the Segre, Cinqa and Ebro you could probably spend a year of your life fishing somewhere different every day. ...Yes, Barston in winter sounds like a bit of fun. I've decided I'm not grinding it out on my syndicate this year. Life's too short. Maybe Feb (ish)?
  12. Personally I would have kept shctum about it and trialled it for a season and if it worked...kept schtum about it for ever. I like the principle of it. Keen to see some catch reports.
  13. I was quite surprised by it- the missus told me it was a home painting book by Andy Grey
  14. Much like coops. Hinged stiff rig on a helicopter at distance or safety clip and a heavy lead if I wade it out.
  15. Its literally not stopped up here all day- heavy too. I've watched the Trent rise by 18 inches since this morning. I reckon it'll burst its banks by tea time.
  16. For UK work - ESP stiff riggers for Hinged stiff rigs (pop up work) and Gardener Muggas for combi rigs (bottom baits). For abroad I have never had a Nash fang x (size 1 or 2) open up on me and I have complete faith in them for just about any size of fish. But the shiny appearance puts me off a bit. I've just got hold of the new Mugga continentals which seem to be the perfect hook pattern. I'm looking forwards to testing them against some big fish soon. I've also used Lockey's stronghold longshanks for some very big fish. I've only had one open on me and I was playing the fish way too hard and it was over 200lbs.
  17. Just had another though on this. Sometimes if your using a big bag on the hooklink- the force of the cast can cause it to fly up the line. It may happened on the cast
