  1. Go on. I'm lost. Can't see why a few boilies on a stringer or a little bag on the hook wouldn't work?
  2. I've just gone back to helicopters after some time away from them. I read somewhere recently that you can't use pva bags or stringers with them. I intend to give it a go next time out...but wondered if anyone had any experience?
  3. One of my favourite rigs is a hinged stiff rig with a long shank nailer.
  4. Why not just put a micro swivel on the shank of the hook and trap it with a float stop?
  5. Quick mods...lock it.
  6. Solar's stuff makes great hooklength too. I used the 80lb for catfishing earlier this year. I had 5 on one hooklength - all over 100lb's and it was unmarked. I intend to test it on some very special fish over the coming weeks too.
  7. Is it not "kable"?
  8. You may want to uncover that swivel a bit. its there to let the rig spin freely. Also with a stiff Flouro or coated braid you need to leave the hinge end (ie the bit that connects to the swivel) free to flip up into the fishes mouth easily and naturally. I find a ring swivel or looped knot gives it this pivot point. I cant quite see from the photo whether you have uncovered any of the braid at the hook end too? Most people will strip back a half inch there too...but others will leave this end stiff. Personally I strip back half an inch when using coated braids.
  9. Is the line coated or uncoated braid? Also...not sure why you have the extra rubber over the swivel end?
  10. As above. Rub it across your trousers till it gets warm and use the middle straightened section...not the bit in your fingers that still curled. Also make sure you use a loop not or ringed swivel to allow it to pivot at the lead end.
  11. From Stewpots comments- It'd be cheaper to jump on a ferry and go and get a set from over there.
  12. So if someone was looking on fleabay for Set that was a few years old...but still with a receiver...what were the older more reliable ones called?
  13. Gardener do a threader for tubing. Minimum length of the tube should be 2-3 inches longer than your hooklink. A blob of putty at the end of your tubing keeps it pinned.
  14. hmmm interesting.
  15. That would drive you crazy river fishing then??? Or even on a big pit with a good chop on. Is that the least sensitivity you can have Matt? Not trying to be fox vs Delk (as I have no idea what the lastest Fox are like), but with Fox you can switch the sensitivity down so that you can have 1 or 2 inches of movement without a bleep.
  16. I was toying with some a while back...luckilly I didn't get some...based on recent comments on here it sound like the latest incarnations aren't as hot as they were a few years back.
  17. Use it and claim ignorance if they have an issue with it. daft rule anyway.

did anyone see what the line was that dave lane had on tight lines on friday for zigging? I couldnt see what it was.
  20. That could well have been it ste.
  21. Steve Just to modify the albrite knot to make it a bit eaier...put one turn over the loop and whip back over the top over it. Works a bit better I find. Hope it helps.
  22. Nash have done one recently that's quite good.
  23. I've never understood why they put White braid in the centre of snakebite.
  24. I think the choice between the two is negligible.Merlin will look more natural where there is weed. Supernova on clear bottom. Just remember to put some putty on them as kryston continues to supply braid that floats and loops up....even after both products have been around for nearly 20 years. Ps. If you've never used a braid hook length before... Get ready for it tangling. You can stop this by: Adding a pva bag or stringer to your hook Putting your whole rig in a pva bag Feathering your cast down
  25. Surely you mean khods?
