I would also like to add i don't really understand mine that well sometimes i mess about with the settings a little, usually use the narrow beam sensitivity set about 80% or so, then I just chuck it out and usually all I find is loads of weed, then If I find a clear or clearish spot just feel for a drop and hope for the best, in an ideal world I know my spots already and don't use it, but it does help you find things you wouldn't find in a month of Sundays,or as above with minimum fuss and disturbance, in many ways a lead is better or still essential but it does help a bit, for example I have fished one swim a lot and I never knew there was a nice raised hump until I chucked the deeper out, for now this is covered in weed but it will become a spot once the weed dies back, to clear it would make the swim look too fish able so im holding off 😂
-
I used mine to pretty good effect the other week, I found some fish fizzing around a massive weed bed chucked it on top, away from them a bit slowly dragged it back, found the edge of the weed and a clear spot in 1 cast, plopped a rig and bait out with the 6m baiting pole 5m later this one was hooked, I almost wanted to say boom then 😂
-
Does that make you a purpvert 😂
-
I've got a deeper pro+ and if it is the same I can choose between 15 and 50 hertz narrow or wide beam is that the same thing you mean ? The pro plus is quite easy to use though so I assume the chirp won't make it too complicated, will just be some settings to play with

They look quite a nice hook too 👍 Have you used much of there bits, I often think they look good
-
No I didn't see those nick tbh I doubt mine aren't being eaten as soon as they are soft enough the rudd would pull them apart if everything else has left them as there is so many of them in there, i use the Aller Aqua ones they seem pretty good tbh

Whats the best tackle purchase you've bought?

I think that is the key mate just to enjoy your fishing, then it doesn't get tough, it's just nice to be out 👍 -
That's another reason I quite like the bigger ones, they don't make a carpet as such so they probably move more between bites and its more like feeding more boilies than smaller pellets
-
I use a lot of pellet with my boilies, I tend to buy the biggest I can get as I think you get more bang for your buck, I am using 17mm ones now, not only are they great because you can just mix them with boilies and pult the lot out together but they don't break down for 48 hours meaning if you are prebaiting with them they wont just be mush by the time they find them, and they are nuisance resistant, but if you have a ridgemonkey boilie crusher, you can also crush pellets in it making a whole variety of bits which are ideal for bags etc, they are also good for taking on liquids,

Distance sticks were the first revolutionary thing I tried when I got back into fishing have to say I agree they are a brilliant invention 👍 -
Thanks I do like the curve of a mugga too it is a nice pattern , maybe I will try krank x and mugga continental and see which works best over time 😊keep it simple lol
-
Thanks Yonny the krank is a pattern I like now, so will go with those I think for now, shame the kamakuras are so bendy as they are super sharp, i am basically just using Ronnie's at the minute keep it simple with a stiff boom and krimps, not sure if it made a difference but I've also used some of the coloured aligners, but I have caught fish with them now so it didn't put them off like I thought it would,

Hi guys Had a couple of hooks straighten out this weekend lost one and landed one but it was lucky the 2nd one , the one I lost I think I may have set the clutch a little tight on, so was probably my fault, but one was a mugga and the other a korda klor, I think I need a thicker gauge hook for the situation, I like the krank, works well on a Ronnie but the kamakura ones just get damaged too easily and the point goes over, I think the rudd must just play with it until its destroyed, so is the krank x a good choice? I'm fishing up to pads so i can't give it too much line but I have found if they just go in a bit they usually come out OK by sinking the rod tip so I don't need to be as heavy handed but obviously I need a strong hook? Any other recommendations? Or krank x?

Will be fine at that sort of range I think, it's quite good for baiting up to things as well because it always drops short so in theory you won't lose them 😂 -

How far out you fishing that's the only thing it doesnt cast as well as a spomb and I struggle to get it that far, but that's probably me, I'm no Terry Edmunds 😳 -

That's the thing I was never that accurate with a spomb the odd one goes off target , but with the airbomb you can make a nice carpet of bait to get them moving between mouthfuls, so a slightly off one isnt the end of the world just makes your patch slightly bigger 😂 -

Too much messing about 😂 Another product I really like is the tfg airbomb, every one always uses a spomb usually while I think there is a place for really tight baiting, I like the spread you can get from an airbomb, and the fact it doesn't actually land right over your spot,, takes a little getting used too, but for me it's a bit of an edge as everyone uses bait boats on the lake I fish. -

Bait screws just saves faff -
I enjoyed it was good to be out again, I had baited a few times recently and raked the swim a couple of days before, so the hard work paid off, being confident in your bait seems to be a good thing too 😂

Neither can I I'm trying to do them now but my computer is being a ****

The morning after the night before 😴 I'm on 5 fish now, so tired, bites seemed to happen as soon as I dozed off, I haven't completely ruled out a 6th yet but I have got to pack up by lunchtime 😳
